Whenever I receive a PM instead of the actual message title I'm given a four digit code as my notification. If I attempt to open it I get an "invalid PM" error message.

I suggest you change your language settings to American English. Unfortunately, other languages have problems like the one you mentioned.

For the record, I used British English, until I encountered the problem you have now, so I pretty much agree with your accusations.
