2017 APC Party Summit- Party Platform - Griffindor - 02-13-2017

Welcome all to the 2017 APC Party Summit!

In this summit, we are basically reviewing the platform and charter of the APC, and allowing the party to draft an updated platform and propose amendments to the charter that may need fixing. We may walk out of this with substantial changes, or we may agree everything is fine! To make sure this summit doesn't die, it will automatically end on the first of march (any votes that need to happen will begin 5 days beforehand), unless we want to extend it then we can extend it. xD

All members of the forum may participate (which is highly encouraged) but ONLY party members may vote or motion to add it to the official draft.

Here is a link to the current platform.

Here is a link to the current charter.

I hereby open the 2nd Annual APC Party Summit! Let the debate begin!

RE: 2017 APC Party Summit - Muncipio de Neiva - 02-13-2017

Hey guys. Well this is probably one of my first posts here (Think its like my second or third honestly but anyways I'm rambling). Thanks to Griff, I have been looking into many different things here in our region, but mostly those in the Assembly of our region. I would first like to start though with the other parties. I have looked over all the other parties and I have found many things that I agree with in most of them. The one that I can't seem to agree to is the Forumist Coalition. I believe in the right to freedom of speech, especially on the RMB and I believe that them calling it a threat and trying to change it is a violation of freedom of speech. There probably should be more moderation of it, but I don't think it right to name it a threat in specifics.

In terms of the Assembly of our region, I am in full support of Sandaoguo's RMB self-governance proposal. This so called "Dis-enfranchisement"(Quoted from Bel), does not exist. If a member of the WA wishes to vote, then they should join the Legislature, plain and simple. When it comes to the Voting Rights of the WA members of the TSP, I do believe that yes they should have voting rights, but I believe that there should be some establishment to stop what I would call vote rigging. For all we know, WA members (Or God forbid the LC, not accusing anyone), could be trying to convince others to move their WA nations to our region just to vote on one thing, then they move them back after said vote has concluded. I think there should be a commission that would monitor if such a thing happened.

I know that I have usually not been one for debate or to give my opinion on things and that I usually just vote later and say nothing, but I do think that what I have said is about things that are important (To me at least they are the ones I find the most important). If ya don't agree with me, I guess I have to deal with that. But this is my opinion plain and simple.

Good points! I agree with a lot of them. In terms of the LC, I would like to give them power to make their own regulation, and get rid of their block vote (or whatever it is now), we should encourage them to join the forums! Basically long story short, I am proposing that our platform provide a stance on the LC, encouraging their self-governance, and removing their influence in the assembly..

RE: 2017 APC Party Summit - Griffindor - 02-14-2017

Anyone have any other ideas related to the LC? Or any other topic??

RE: 2017 APC Party Summit - Omega - 02-14-2017

I think we need to take a look at the Foreign Affairs section of our platform. It's somewhat outdated and not well written per say (yes I know I wrote it)

RE: 2017 APC Party Summit - Griffindor - 02-14-2017

I do feel it is a bit out dated, because I have seen the role of ambassadors greatly diminished over the course of the last few MoFA terms. I would rather leave the job of the ambassador to the MoFA. So in putting it into a party platform, we would simply need to remove the emphasis on ambassadors. Anything specific to address regarding the topic? Other ideas?

RE: 2017 APC Party Summit - Belschaft - 02-15-2017

You said "All members of the forum may participate (which is highly encouraged)" so I'd be happy to contribute a draft FA platform for you guys, if that isn't viewed as an intrusion? I don't know if you'll like it, of course...

RE: 2017 APC Party Summit - Griffindor - 02-15-2017

Yes, we encourage participation from everyone!

RE: 2017 APC Party Summit - Escade - 02-15-2017

I agree that we should eliminate the block vote for LC's.

Muncipio de Neiva, certain things can be done to manage WA votes. One proposal that I had was that only nations who had WA in the region for at least 6 months should be able to vote in any gameside polls. Of course military members would be excused from this and a roster of them kept by MoMA would ensure their rights.

That sounds reasonable. I haven't looked into the poll abilities much, but could we even enforce that?
