RE: Office of Assembly Affairs - Amerion - 01-05-2019 REMOVAL OF ISLANDS OF UNITY AS DEPUTY CHAIR
5 January 2019
Esteemed Legislators,
Please be informed that @islands_of_unity is to be relieved of his duties as Deputy Chair with immediate effect.[1] Having reviewed the offending post for which he was warned by an administrator, I conclude that his conduct is unbecoming for an official of this Assembly. While I understand the spirit and the context in which that post was made, it contained wholly inappropriate language and reflected poorly on the Office of the Assembly. Nevertheless, I wish @islands_of_unity well in any future endeavours and hope that should he seek higher office in the future, he will be cognizant of his words and actions. [1] Legislative Procedure Act, Article 2. Powers and Responsibilities of the Chair, Section 6, stipulates: ‘The Chair may freely appoint any number of deputies, who will be authorized to perform those legislative duties of the Chair that the Chair permits. Any changes in the roster of deputies must be posted publicly.’ |
