Illegal Immigration - Ryccia - 09-14-2017

You know what this is for. Let us commence! I hope it is not the fury I forsee as a possible outcome.

While Illegal immigration is a "crime," I would like to point out something I learned the other day on NPR, which is like the BBC in America. Being an illegal immigrant doesn't actually make you a criminal, as it is a civil offence, but not a "crime."

Regardless, it is illegal. To respect the rule of law, to respect the order, they must be deported. Even if it tears people apart...

It is the law. And the law must be followed. Until we make a better immigration policy, we must, unfortunately.

So when you say Civil offence is that similar to say, Jaywalking?

Actually just because something is the law doesn't mean it is right. The law should be based on what is right not vise versa. So you can't say that something is right simply because it is the law because that simply isn't true. The law here in the U.S. is flawed in many, many, many places and is not something you should base your moral code off of nor something that you should follow in all cases. While it can be helpful, the law can also be abhorrent. To use an example not based on the matter at hand I present Gay rights. Simply put, they were completely ignored till recently and the lgbtq+ community faced extreme discrimination and were denied many of their basic human rights. Anyhow, I won't actually discuss the topic at hand other than what I just said because this seems like a dumpster fire that I don't want to get into.
