RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Escade - 01-21-2018 So excited about this! Hope it passes before January ends RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Roavin - 01-21-2018 A change, requested by TEP: Article 3, Section 1 will be changed from Quote:1. The signatories will defend each other against threats to their security and stability, at request of the officials of the threatened region. to Quote:1. The signatories will defend each other against threats or attempts to overthrow their legal governments, at request of the officials of the threatened region. The reasoning is that there was concern that the language was too ambiguous and could be used to justify all sorts of silly things. This rewording should make the intent (defensive actions of the home region) clear. ( @Tim will update that in the OP soon ) RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Escade - 01-24-2018 Motion to vote RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Awe - 01-24-2018 Second RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Roavin - 01-24-2018 The treaty was proposed on the 19th, with the latest amendment on the 22nd. This will go to vote in TRR and TEP soon; in our procedures, however, mandatory debate time lasts until the 27th and then will be at vote for another 5 days. We've not had debate since the most recent change, and we do already have two motions to vote. A motion to waive the remaining debate time may be appropriate, though I'm still waiting for Tim to update the OP. RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Tim - 01-24-2018 OP has been updated with all the assorted changes, I believe Roavin has detailed all of them. I'd like to motion to waive the remaining debate time. We should probably protect ourselves against Balderite tactics, and say that withdrawal just requires posting a public notice, rather than specifically of the forums of the region that probably is now hostile to us if we're trying to repeal the treaty Was this ever resolved? The original phrasing is still in the OP draft. RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Tim - 01-24-2018 Yup, mea culpa. I copied from the wrong document, we've had more than a couple Google Docs open. Changes should be good to go now. Language now clearly states public notice instead of forum. [FA Thing] The January Accords - Omega - 01-24-2018 I second the motion to waive the remaining debate time on this treaty. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: [FA Thing] The January Accords - Roavin - 01-24-2018 Since Tim keeps failing to update the OP right ... The final version that should go to vote in all three regions: Quote:The January Accords |
