Id say you should try it for a few months before we code anything... If we're going to code it at all.

I agree. In fact, we'll do a 1 or 2 months trial before I put the efficiency of the bill numbering system as one of the questions in the Legislators Survey.

Having just tried the system out, I believe we should erase the month out of the bill numbering system since most people will be confused, not knowing whether it is the month when the bill is introduced or voted upon.

So it will now be AYY.01?

I don't envy you having to recode the spreadsheet and archives ...

Haha ... fair enough Blush

When I was Chair, I coded it according to the order the bill came to vote. I think even if you were to order it differently, that would be fine as well, so long as it is stated in either the guide or the Legislative Procedure Act.

Month debate started is probably the best way to do it...

By that, do you mean keeping the month inside the bill numbering system?

I assumed thats what you were talking about  <_<  >_>

RE: [DISCUSSION] Reorganization of the Assembly Forums and Archives - Amerion - 04-09-2019

I would further suggest that upon a final decision on the specific coding guidelines, a section is added to the Guide to the Assembly which details how Legislators may best use these codes for research purposes.
