To be fair, I was across the country for 8 or 9 days [emoji14]
We didn't go see the Canyon from the ground. It was too expensive to rent the car, and gas would have been more than we planned for. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk

I'm just back from a holiday myself, during which I beat my current record for tallest mountain climbed. It went up by 123m to 859m. Not enormous, but pretty tall for a mountain in England.
Anyway, it was a lovely, relaxing week and it's sad to think that I'm going back to work tomorrow, but I'm mostly managing not to stress about it so far. I think that calls for a celebratory Irish coffee! Over what (horizontal) length did you do that rise?

I think it might have been eleven kilometres? We walked quite some distance to the foot of the mountain and then a long distance across the ridge. My hair of the party finished up in a mountain pass to avoid a precipitous descent to the starting valley. It was about a six hour hike all told, though. 859m is can be a significant ascent (depending on where you start of course ).
The highest elevation around here is probably a bridge of some 20m height or so.... (11-21-2018, 04:44 PM)Tsrill Wrote: 859m is can be a significant ascent (depending on where you start of course ). A little research suggests the ascent was 853m. A stranger in a tan trench coat walks up to the bar. A peace maker is in a holster. His black boots are shiny. His button-up is crisp. He sits down. In a raspy voice, he speaks:
"Get me a French vanilla tea. Make it hot. And a pickle on the side. A 'Dill' pickle. I will kill if it ain't dill. It was a rough day. My cat attacked me. It was a wild beast. Its green eyes aglow. Scares the Jesus out of me. But I tamed it, with a box. Yeah, I am awesome..." He drinks his tea, but it burns his tongue. DylanPickle-
