Matchday 4, First Knockouts
Knockout Group A:
Home Away
PEH 2-0 TRS
HZB 4-0 UBI
Miki Fushimi (MF): A shutdown for Trasunnerian players tonight as the Peonic women's team clenched a 2-0 victory.
Frank Lucca (FL): It was evident tonight that there's a major overhaul of re-delegation in the Peonic team. In anticipation to restrategize their approach in the knockout rounds, an entirely new line and formation was in play tonight. Trasunneria had tried to capitalize a winning strategy against fan favorite FiHami last time, however a constant re-evaluation and redelegation of the Peonic football team were able to gain them an edge.
MF: The Peonic team had much better possession and coordination of the ball, as well as a stronger defensive formation. It was enough to hold off against the Trasunnerian strikers long enough to slowly regain field position. The score was made by striker number 10, Huan Jia and right midfielder number 27, Faiza Hinata.
FL: We also see a great regroup by Hazelburg, where after recuperating from their losses against RIM players managed to snag a victory against the Ubesii-an team with a large 4-0 lead.
MF: Hazelburg was certainly efficient in maintaing a more coordinated and strong offensive capability over the Ubesii-an force. An offensive combination strategy that they adopted on the field were enough to pressure the Ubesii-an team against Hazelburg, slowly placing them in tatters and breaking their formation.
FL: Hazelburg did not have much luck in the Football World Championships in the group rounds, with one victory, one loss and one tie, five points below the group champion RIM. As the team were under performing in the group stages, they needed a better restructure of their team.
MF: A new recipe was in service, and application towards the Ubesii proved a tremendous victory. The Peonic team and the Hazelburg team shall both advance and face off against each other in the next match.
Knockout Group B:
Home Away
RIM 0-4
KFA
SOR 3-0 SED
MF: Kai-Fa did not pull any stops in this match, upon their previous tie-in with Gi-Land, their upcoming match against group champion RIM was one that is anticipated by many.
FL: We completely see an entirely different outcome than predicted, Kai-Fa certainly got RIM's mixed defensive strategy figured out. A strategy that made them impervious against goals from other teams in the group stages.
MF: When it is not broken, there is no need to fix it. Analogies like such are not applicable in football, and as such continuing the same recipe would not yield same results. As the defense was shattered, Kai-Fa capitalized their situation and gained a 0-4 lead against the RIM.
FL: Sorbakia were instrumental in setting up a defensive position, and Sedunn was one that were great to penetrate defensive positions in the Football World Championship. We see Sedunn performing well as anti-defensive against teams in many matches in the FWC.
MF: Sedunn had a pedigree in football championships. Their performance last year against Sereva and Ryccia managed them to become the second runner up for the FWC, and gained them a lot of traction in the group stage.
FL: Sorbakia had a tremendous fight ahead of them in the knockouts. However with a much more offensive outlook than their previous matches, they managed to clench their win against Sedunn with a tremendous performance. Sorbakia's 3-0 lead gained an excellent win against Sedunn, and doused their hopes to win the women's 2019 FWC.
Group C:
Home Away
REB 5-0 BZE
TRI 1-0 IFF
FL: Rebeltopia were on a roll after gaining traction in the final day of the group matches. Their strategy to correctly capitalize their winnings against Rebeltopia were certainly fruitful.
MF: While Rebeltopia were able to manage an excellent defensive position in earlier matches in the Football World Championships, it proved ineffective in scoring goals against their opponents. A much more offensive outlook seemed the most appropriate in upcoming matches, and they were able to balance a good offense with a good defense.
FL: Bzerneleg certainly tried to maintain an offensive output, but the Rebeltopian defensive was rock-hard enough to let anyone else pass. As such, they clenched a strong win against Bzerneleg and managed to advance to the next round.
MF: Tribekistan and the Frost Federation had it out today, and it was an all-our battle to win. Both teams had great momentum and possession on the field, however Tribekistan managed to sneak in a goal against the Frost Federation.
FL: Tribekistan had a tremendous defensive capability in the 2019 FWC, proper delegation and structure of their defensive position had made them a tank in the group stages. As such despite bombardments from a Frost offensive that was seen constantly in the match, they were unable to gain a footing against Tribekistan
MF: The Frost's strategy in the group stages were partially attributed to their adaptation over high altitude and colder playing field. Their adaptation in extreme weather managed a win against their group-mates. However, while it is cold, the Zhide Sports Complex was less extreme than Asahi, and provided less pressure against Tribekistan. As such, Tribekistan advanced in the upcoming rounds
Summary
MF:
Only six teams competing in for the 2019 FWC championship cup. As such results and predictions are unexpected once more. One thing that's constant is that in order to win against the other teams, there is much needed re-evaluation of strategies, to adapt on the field of battle
