If we don't trust the CRS to appoint the EC, we have bigger problems, frankly, and this proposal wouldn't fix them. But the region does trust the CRS.

I understand the point you are coming from, however, though how unbiased the CRS may be, the Assembly should still have a say in important figures of our region's government. And a say can be the act of a recall and, or, a motion of no-confidence, but can also be the approval of a high-ranking governmental official. This comes back to the idea of committees, and hearings, and we could easily have a hearing, where members of the potential committee on Elections and Ethics could question the EC nominee, and then bring the vote to the Assembly.
