[IC]Email: Slavery in Zadiner?
#1

To: Ambassador Iuliano Yandai (Zadiner)
From: Sirea Fasya-Arkhando (Erinor)
Subject: Slavery in Zadiner.

Ambassador Yandai,

We recently had a request from Das Vaterland Vercopa, asking if they could claim an embassy building in Vallano Parlid.  Erinor's very strong position on the issue of slavery required that their request was rejected.  In a response to that rejection the representative from Vercopa accused Erinor of hypocrisy on account of the fact that we currently allow an Embassy with the Constitutional Monarchy of Zadiner in Cira.  The Vercopan representative claimed that not only is Zadiner willfully involved in the slave trade, as has been alleged previously, but that definitive proof of this has been brought to light

Now, I am sure you understand that our position here is a very delicate one.  It is of the utmost importance the current government of the Democratic Republic be seen to hold to its principles and there is no principle more greatly valued across Erinor, and especially amongst the minority population of Serevans, than the complete opposition to all forms of slavery and the support of slavery, thus, we must ask you to either confirm or deny these allegations in an official statement from your government.

In the case of a denial, we would request that you allow Erinor to send special investigators to Zadiner to conduct their own investigation and to ensure that nothing is being concealed either by the Constitutional Monarchy or by dissident movements within it.  If no evidence is found, or if it is clear that any evidence pertaining to slavery or its support is conclusively revealed to be in connection with some third party and not the work of the Constitutional Monarchy itself, and provided that Zadiner agrees to do all it can to eradicate such criminal practices, our relationship may continue.

In the event of a confirmation, or if evidence is found in direct contradiction a denial, then we would be forced to withdraw our approval of you embassy application and ask you and all your diplomatic staff to leave Erinor at the earliest opportunity.  I hope you understand that it would pain us greatly to do this and that we have been looking forward to the trade agreement with Zadiner that you yourself proposed, but we must hold consistently to our position on this and we cannot play favourites.  If Zadiner is willingly involved in the practice of slavery, or its support, our diplomatic relationship much change.

Yours,

Sirea Fasya-Arkhanda, Sityara Jukhirs evendem.

P.S. If you would like to meet in person to discuss this, please contact my assistant, Tesa, and she will book you an appointment.
