Legislators may apply for Leave of Absence (LoA) here. This thread is the only channel to apply for Leaves of Absences, barring exceptional circumstances in which requests for Leave may be submitted by other means in writing to the Chair of the Assembly.
Guidelines:- A Leave of Absence permits Legislators to absent themselves from voting in the Assembly for the duration of their absence
- Should Legislators expect themselves to be absent for votes on two or more days, they are encouraged to apply for a Leave of Absence
- A Legislator is not expected to be completely absent for the duration of their Leave of Absence. They may still participate in voting if they so desire
- Should Legislators require an extension to their Leave of Absence, they must do so in by posting in this thread
- Barring exceptional circumstances, Leaves of Absence should generally not exceed thirty (30) days.
- Legislators on a Leave of Absence will be notified three days and on the day of prior to the expiration of such Leave. If they fail to participate in voting on votes held on different days after the expiration of Leave, they will be suspended from the Assembly in accordance with provisions set forth in the Charter
Note:
Should a Legislator miss two or more votes on different days without a Leave of Absence, and not respond to the notification from the Office of the Chair of the Assembly in a timely manner with a valid reason for missing votes, they will be suspended from the Assembly in accordance with provisions set forth in the Charter.
