MoMA Candidate questioned about his past service
[Election Central] October 10
In a meet and greet at a retirement home south of the Lampshade District, Minister of Military Affairs Somyrion queried the Chair of the Assembly Roavin on his platform and his most recent service to The South Pacific.
Addressing a crowd of 53 elderly Islanders and their pet llamas, the Minister provided new details on the current Cabinet’s internal discussions about Mr. Ever-Wandering Souls’ proscription. The Cabinet’s actions with respect to the Field Marshal Overseer of Terra Corps of The Black Hawks garnered controversy in the Gameplay community and caused considerable consternation within the Coalition’s diplomatic corps. Minister Somyrion accused the Chair of stalling the Cabinet on a response to amend the proscriptions amid a High Court ruling calling for further clarification.
In a remarkable attack on the candidate, the Minister accused the Chair of having acted improperly in his capacity as the Cabinet’s representative on the proscription cases and mishandling the lines of communication between the Cabinet and himself. Specifically, Minister Somyrion alleges an intentional exclusion of current Minister of Regional Affairs Islands of Unity from Cabinet discussions.
‘You went against the unity of the cabinet to specifically exclude a member you didn't like from communication,’ Minister Somyrion asserts, ‘and you took such unilateral action based on suspicions you had never shared with anyone, even when they were relevant to regional security.’
Minister Islands of Unity is running for Prime Minister and has faced criticism for a lack of consistency in his campaign from the Chair of the Assembly
Minister Somyrion questioned how the Chair planned to ‘reconcile the fact that [he had] been highly inactive in the past month with [his] current bid for a term in the cabinet?’ Notably, the Minister himself has faced similar questioning in his own campaign for Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The campaign office of Roavin has yet to issue a statement in response to these latest questions.
