I'm reading this scifi series called the lost fleet. Its about this bloke, "Black Jack" Geary, who had to stay on a spaceship that was about to be destroyed to hold off the enemy. Everyone thinks he died in battle and the alliance (his side) is desperate to make propaganda against the syndicate ("bad guys") so they make him out to be a hero. He is later found, 100 years later, to be alive and his body has been preserved. He is placed in command of a fleet which has been lost behind enemy lines when the admiral of the fleet is killed. He quickly finds that the alliance is very different to the one he grew up with, but soon most of the fleet agrees with his "unorthodox tactics". The alliance has lost all concept of honour and has begun killing any "syndic" they see, using only extremely aggressive tactics. He stuggles against his "Black Jack" persona as some of his subordiantes hate him, some worship him. Very strong sci-fi, but it's a good series. Great for sci-fi nuts, like me.
