This is a public forum, and it's distasteful to share someone's IP without their permission imo.
I just find it funny every time someone gets upset that an IP (or more accurately, a hostname) gets shared through an IRC log. There is literally no way for you to disable the sharing of that info if you use IRC. It's an integral part of the protocol. If you want total privacy, don't use IRC. Because the people who care about your IP are collecting it anyways, either on the forums you visit or by simply being on IRC and logging the channels.
