This week, our first-ever Mid-Year Awards is being held along with our first Summersend event for awhile, Nominations for next month's avatar of the month are now open, and the Landsraad (Legislature) has started debating its first bill. This week, preparations for Summersend, our end-of-summer festival are underway, multiple changes to Werewolf were enacted by our dedicated Thane, and... that's about it. I present to you tonight the results of the first Wintreath Mid-Year Awards! The awards were created to give shoutouts to folks who may embody some of our core values (or all of them), nations who hold unique features such as their flag or their factbooks/dispatches, as well as the usual joke awards along with other stuff such as what people consider the best forum/discord game. 20 awards were given, so most won't be shown here to keep this thing simple. Instead, only the reciever/s of Wintreath's Finest for the Mid year, and the new Spirit of Wintreath award will be presented, since they mattered most. We are happy to announce Marzipan as Wintreath's Finest for the Mid year! For the Spirit of Wintreath award, both Marzipan and The Greenlandic North won. The rest of the results can be found here.
A new Jarl of Foreign Affairs, and a vacant Chancellorship.
Due to unknown concerns, our previous Jarl of FA, Laurentus, had to resign, leaving the position vacant once again. The position has been hard to fill for its unique circumstances of leading our region's foreign affairs. Luckily, one of our founding members has volunteered to lead the Ministry! Dawsinian is a founding member of this community and has served in just about every capacity, from the old legislature to senior chat op to many Cabinet positions, including two previous stints as Jarl of Defense (back in the day) and Jarl of Regional Affairs. With his appointment as JoFA, he is the first Wintrean to lead 3 seperate ministries during his time in the community. He has been in about every part of the region's community, and the Monarch is confident with him representing Wintreath to other communities. Unfortunately, Laurentus' resignation also applies to the Chancellorship (Head of legislature), leaving the position vacant as well.
