Season's greetings everyone,

It's been another year. Have you accomplished the goals you set for yourself? Are you proud of your actions this year? Have you come to terms with your faults and mistakes? More importantly how are you doing? We hope that this December 25th you spend your time with loved ones; family, friends or even the neighbor that nobody else pays any attention to. As the snow falls (weather permitting), the sun shines (weather permitting) and the roads freeze (drive safe) the community of Wintreath wishes you the merriest of Christmases, the happiest of Hanukkahs and the very best of Boxing Days. As a community that so strongly values the friendships developed here in NationStates we understand that while things may not always go well, whatever is happening your friends are here to lighten the load, talk you through it and carry you past it. It is with that in mind we send this to you. Whether you find your stocking filled with candy or coal, whether you find yourself in good fortune or bad, merry Christmas, happy festival, happy Yule and happy Solstice!

Most Sincerely,
The Citizens and Residents of Wintreath

Invitation to Werewolf XXII
Quote:Good day, subjects.

Cave Johnson, here.

You are hereby invited to come and take part in Aperture Science's testing process for a new, top-secret prototype we're developing. We offer $50 for anyone who can successfully navigate their way through turretfire, trace amounts of time travel and a slightly unhinnged-yet-entertaining murderbot (who, by the way, has promised a great deal of cake to the winner).

If this sounds appealing to you, please contact your nearest Aperture representative here, and await further instructions.

We're done here

Man, what a jerk.

Not to worry. The rest of the Aperture staff are really friendly, and we will take every precaution to make sure you do not meet an untimely demise in some dark corner of our facility.

To that end, it would be good to read the basic guide for what exactly forum Werewolf is over here, but the basic premise is that it's a social deduction game, where one Faction (typically referred to as the Scum or the Werewolves) have to kill off certain players during the night phases, and avoid being detected and voted off during the day phases, by another faction known as the Town or Village faction. Mafia and Werewolf are different names for the same game, and it is very similar to Town of Salem.

Our facility also uses a bit of technical jargon every now and then. We wouldn't be very good mad scientists if we didn't, now would we? You can find a detailed guide to every piece of jargon over here.

Don't be shy to invite as many of your friends as you want to bring, either! We have some of the best bouncy-castles that science has ever produced, and our barbecues are legendary. See you there, carbon units!

Invitation to Werewolf XXIII

What's better than a story about a boy wizard, a curious girl in a strange land of madness, and a girl swept away to a new place by a tornado? Why...making them cross over of course!  In this game of Werewolf, you'll see many popular YA literature worlds crossing over with each other, including The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland as well as the Looking Glass Wars series, The Neverending Story, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, and much more.

In Werewolf XXIII 2, the Wicked Witch of the West has already conquered the world of Wonderland from the Alice in Wonderland Story.  As our story begins, she's already used the White Rabbit to scope out Hogwarts while luring a young second year wizard down the rabbit hole...and her ambitions don't stop there.  She seeks to conquer all of the popular YA literary worlds with the help of some of her villainous cohorts from the different worlds.  It's up to the various heroes of literature such as Harry Potter, Alice Liddell, Alyss Heart, Atreyu, Katniss Everdeen, Dorothy Gale, and several others to band together and stop the Wicked Witch and her gang of villains from succeeding.  But will they be able to stop these villains in their tracks? Or will all of the worlds bow before their new rulers?
--------------------
And that's the gist.  In this game, you'll have the choice at signups to vote on what kind of game you want it to be: Complex, Neutral, or Basic.

A complex game will have various non-vanilla roles such as the Assassin and, naturally, the Witch.  It'll also have pre-voting scenarios that can manipulate the story as well as the gameplay, such as splitting people into groups and throwing them in a new thread, playing Role Roulette where roles get shuffled and given to potentially different players, and other sorts of unique plot twists and turns.  It'd be a game where you'd really be kept on your feet because anything could happen.

A Neutral game would have the vanilla Werewolf gameplay, but would have some non-vanilla roles such as the Assassin, Witch, or other unique roles.  Outside of that, the gameplay would follow traditional Werewolf with no unique twists/turns, but would still keep you on your feet because of some of the roles involved.

A Basic game would be 100% traditional Werewolf with the vanilla roles (2+ Defenders, 1 Seer, 2-3+ Werewolves).  It'd follow all of the traditional rules and whatnot and require people to think more logically and see through potential lies that the Werewolves make, since even things such as role revealing (within reason in the spirit of the game) could be heavily scrutinized despite them still being allowed.

The choice with the most votes will be the type of game that will end up playing out.

And that's it! It should prove to be an exciting game regardless of what form it takes, and we'll be capping it at exactly 24 players at most.  So be sure to stop by and sign up!

Sorry about the delay on getting myself over here, the acclimation to the position and joining every single forum hasn't been easy. Anyhow, here are the last two issues of the Aurora Borealis which we have published as I don't believe you received the first either... Again, that's my bad.

Greetings and Happy Holidays from your friends in Wintreath!

The holidays are a time to reflect on the past year and dream of possibilities in the next. In that vein, I wanted to take a moment to wish happy holidays to everyone in The South Pacific and thank you for being a partner and friend to us. I look forward to continuing our relations, and hope that opportunities will present themselves for us to become closer and stronger partners in the new year. In the meantime, happy holidays once again!
