Merry Christmas from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

Government Island, The Coalition of the South Pacific
Thursday, 25 December 2014

I would like to take a few moments to wish the allies and diplomatic partners of the South Pacific a very Merry Christmas, and use some of this time for a reflection of the past year.

It has been a year of changes for our community and for our region. In many ways it has been eventful and resulted in the Assembly coming to have a new found delight of alcoholic beverages (we should thank Chairman Unibot for agreeing to have the bar installed at the back) and of course their high fashion of lampshades (available from all decent clothiers!) ever continues to set the trend in NationStates head-wear.

The year saw the conclusion of some old relationships, but at the same time it saw the beginning of some new ones. At the same time a renewal of both historic and fresh relationships is under way and as we approach the new year will culminate in shared experiences and closer cultural bonds between The South Pacific and our various allies which will only strengthen our ties and ensure our communication remains open and productive.

This month alone we have already seen the rise the nefarious Santa Clause who seeks to enslave the South Pacific in his toy factory deep beneath Government Island in order to make us compete in the global economy without proper healthcare benefits. Already we are forming unions to protest this action and I am pleased to state that I shall be opening donation boxes across our various embassies to help fund the legal battle against this capitalist tyrant in red and white (he's a fan of Coca Cola, go figure).

On behalf of the Government of the Coalition of the South Pacific, it is our wish that you have a very happy and peaceful 25th of December, however you choose to celebrate it. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be back in operation next week as we begin preparations for our soon to be annual "burn the subversive" toasty toaster events, so watch this space!

Yours,
