Heads up, ignition on, visors down

"There is no conventional hierarchy as such in our ranks, we rely on trust and mutual respect between our members to present a united front.
Do not be afraid to ask any questions, however dumb or simple the may seem - although we have a lot of experience among our numbers we are more than willing to share that knowledge, and you may bring ideas to the table that have not been considered before.
No matter how wild or crazy a scheme may seem do not be afraid to put it forward - I am sure that I speak for all of us when I say that any ideas that are put forward will be considered carefully and, if viable, could be swiftly adopted.
A word of caution though - Present a viable plan to execute an operation and you could find yourself being tasked with leading it!
Don't worry about the tactics and techniques, if you decide to take part in the military you will be taught all that we can teach you.
We believe in giving our members the tools and skills to enjoy a rewarding career in Gameplay, but, perhaps more importantly the support to put what they learn into practice. "

Regardless of how the mandarins attempt to pull the strings, this will be the underlying principle of SPSF under my tenure.

Whilst the region decides what alignment it wishes to adopt there are plenty of regions that are under my control that can be used for training without violating either defender, raider or native. Once the military is up to a decent standard the Region ban decide how it will be deployed in the future.

Is this an election campaign, or a recruitment one?

Ah, the wonders of technology. I'm on Tapatalk!

I'm assuming this is an election campaign, so I would ask of you the following:

1. What do you think are the biggest obstacles to rebuilding the numbers in the SPSF? And how would you solve them?
2. Would you say that the problem of manpower is with the existing structure of the SPSF or that the structure was sound but for whatever reason wasn't properly utilised?

The one obstacle that all the others derive from is how to deploy the armed forces - without a direction or mandate any action taken outside of the region is bound to upset somebody in the Assembly

The problem with  recruiting for the SPSF specifically is that it is not seen as a vital component of the regions make-up and attempts to make a silk purse out of it have been hampered by a lack of political will to support it.

The fundamental principle is that those taking part do so because they want to, regardless of whether the politicians favour or condemn such actions

In real terms there is no need for a military based in any GCR to be sanctioned by the government of that region, it just adds texture to the activities

So, Field Commander Ditortilla, do you intend to resign your commission as Field Commander of The West Pacific Armed Forces in the event that you are elected as Minister of the Army here?
#6

No I will command the Hordes of Two GCR's!!

:hehe!:

It will be known as the South West Armed Taskforce

I believe that holding official positions elsewhere does not preclude me from holding this post?

Is Unibot resigning as delegate of TRR in favour of his post as Chair?

I think that was referring to the fact you may face a potential conflict of interest.

Whilst the SFPS remains inactive I see no COI

I envisage that a period of rebuilding will be required during which time it would be advantageous for new TSP recruits to be offered the opportunity of taking part in joint operations to gain experience.

The nature of my post in TWP allows a certain amount of wiggle room, which could insulate TSP from culpability in any actions that are borderline

It seems to be generally accepted that the SPSF will rarely be taking to the field unilaterally, having command of both it and TWPAF would encourage co-operation and increased activity.

Such military co-ordination could hopefully lead to a rapprochement between the two regions

Wow just wow...I have to admit that you talking of the joint union of South and West certainly wins my heart vote. After all my heart is TSP my origin was TWP.

But I have to give fair amounts of time to each person in the running of this office. So off I go to read their threads.

Thank you so much for the things you have said in this thread, and thank you for running for this office.
