PASSED: Repeal "Freedom of Marriage Act"
#1

As I'm sick of the "smart formatting" fucking up I'm going to take a break from posting the text of resolutions. You can read them on the WA site anyway.

Forum topic
Freedom of Marriage Act
The Charter of Civil Rights

The argument in the repeal is not specifically about gay marriage, but rather about redundancy. The Charter of Civil Rights is a general anti-discrimination resolution that prohibits denying public rights on the basis of, among other things, sexuality. As such it supercedes Freedom of Marriage Act. The repeal is also about settling a years old grudge towards the author of the original resolution. And given OMGTKK was the author of Repeal "Gay Rights" in the original NSUN, it completes the circle nicely. We agree with the repeal argument and favour repeal of the original resolution so are voting FOR but it's important to stress that in doing so is no way a vote to legalise any kind of discrimination.

Why don't you just disable it and write in plain bbcode? It's the button all the way on the right.
