Darkstrait Civil War [Image: US_Marine_Cadillac_Gage_LAV_and_a_Fiat-O...4_APC.JPEG] Government tanks in the suburbs of Skotino Steno For several weeks, Darkstrait has been embroiled in a violent and aggressive civil war. Government forces have been fighting communist revolutionary groups, wolframist milita, and unaffiliated rebels and, with the aid of allies such as Ryccia and Bonaugure, are retaking the capital steadily. However, communist forces have launched an attack on Black Point Military Center, the location of much of Darkstrait's armed forces, and the advantage of surprise has been huge. In addition, wolframist forces have been pushing toward a secret facility used for the enrichment of uranium. Transsunerian Conflict [Image: New_Mexico_class_battleship_bombarding_Okinawa.jpg] A Sedunnic warship bombards Soorman positions on Transsuneria A temporary military alliance consisting of Sedunnn, Darkstrait, and Karnetvor has begun landings on the state of Transsuneria, a defunct and civil-war-embroiled country with a terrorist group known as Soorman's Fighters. The alliance has been investigating strange circumstances near Transsuneria for some time and have unraveled the mystery of a missing ship that went down in the region.

Issue II
Victory at Black Point [Image: 640px-B-52D%28061127-F-1234S-017%29.jpg] A wolframist plane bombing government hangars, leaked by a spy Darkstraitese forces recently won an important victory against the communist fleet at Black Point Military Center, where the communists had launched an attack with the aid of wolframist aircraft. After the initial confusion ended, rebel forces had stolen or destroyed most of the fleet stationed there and were pushing into the base. However, government forces rallied and pushed the communists back to their boats. The battle, however, took a huge toll on government forces. Thousands were killed in the initial confusion, and over a hundred aircraft were shot down or bombed in the hangar. Government forces, however, do not expect another attack, as the wolframists and communists fell out shortly after the battle. Skotino Steno Liberated [Image: Berlin_Skyline_MediaSpree_2014.jpg] Skotino Steno at night After almost a month of fighting, the Darkstraitese capital, Skotino Steno, was liberated in its entirety. At the beginning of the war, the city was in chaos. Government forces fought communists, wolframists, and other rebels on the streets. Civilians who didn't flee the city when the riots began were often trapped in their apartments on the outskirts and in the suburbs. Soon rebel forces began pushing toward Octavo Square, the center of the Darkstraitese government, and Embassy Street, the location of many embassies in Darkstrait. However, international intervention saw the rebels being slowly pushed back, and when the wolframists and communists fell out, government forces began a final push that ended all resistance within the city. Government Releases Wanted List of Rebel Leaders The government has released the following list of rebels wanted for treason and/or war crimes. The names have been collected by spies within rebel organizations.

In a massive attack, thousands of Darkstraitese, Ryccian, and Karnetvorian troops, with the help hundreds of tanks and international air support, stormed the wolframist stronghold in Montus Wolframus. Rebel Trials Scheduled [Image: DeKalb_County_IN_Court_House.jpg] High Court building in Darkstrait The Darkstraitese government has announced that it intends to put rebel leaders and perpetrators on trial later this week. It has also announced its intent to invite member nations of the coalition to send diplomats to help serve as a jury. Keep reading as events continue to unfold. The Ryccian government replied by announcing its immediate resignation from the SCO and its intent to defend itself against foreign aggression. When other SCO nations such as Farengeto pledged their support to Kringalia, and international disagreement concerning Ryccia's actions began to spread, the crisis began to build. The Darkstraitese government, torn between its trade deals with Ryccia and its alliance with Sporaltryus, a nation that has threatened Ryccia with nuclear warfare, has proclaimed neutrality and has begged both sides to see reason.

War Declared Against Ryccia [Image: 640px-Minuteman_II_in_silo_1980.jpg] Darkstraitese engineers preparing a ballistic missile for launch against Ryccian targets In a desperate move, the Ryccian government declared war on several nations yesterday, including Darkstrait. Archchancellor Mustrum Ridcully announced Darkstrait's intent to defend its territory and aid its allies in attacks on Ryccian forces, but not launch a full-scale war. In a press conference this morning, Ridcully said, "We are going to aid the Southern Cooperation Organization and their allies in the war against Ryccia, but we cannot spare the resources to launch our own campaign after the disastrous Civil War and the continuing chaos in Skotino Steno," adding later that "the war... promises to be short." Sosaniye Trials Stall [Image: Defendants_in_the_dock_at_nuremberg_trials.jpg] The defendants under heavy guard After the declaration of war against Ryccia, the Darkstraitese government demanded that the Ryccian delegation at the Sosaniye Trials leave immediately, to be replaced by one from Punchwood. This has caused the trials to temporarily stall as a decision cannot be reached until the new delegation arrives. As of the publication of this paper, no criminals have been sentenced. Soorman's Fighters Threaten to Use Sarin on Civilian Populations [Image: LivensPhosgeneTank.jpg] A poison gas (phosgene) tank found in an abandoned Soorman base The Transsunerian terrorist group Soorman's Fighters has threatened to use the lethal nerve agent sarin on civilian populations within Transsuneria if international coalition forces do not pull out of Transsuneria immediately. The governments of Sedunn, Darkstrait, and Karnetvor all announced that they would be evacuating troops out of Transsuneria shortly after.

Issue IV
Scaltenian Rebellion Begins, Darkstraitese Government Leans Pro-Government [Image: Albania_bunkers.jpg] Rebel-held bunkers in Scalten A civil war began recently in the nation of Sanden when its colony island, Scalten, declared independence and seized fortifications on the island. However, instead of sending military forces to crush the rebels, the government of Sanden stalled, asking for international support. However, this plan backfired when many nations declared their intent to send aid to the rebels or the people of Scalten. Only Darkstrait has sent aid to the government. In a press conference, Head of Foreign Affairs Lavaeolus Ephebia said, "Despite the actions of the other nations in TSP, we will send aid to Sanden, as they did in our time of need against the communist and wolframist rebels in Skotino Steno." However, the aid sent consisted solely of a small fleet, and not enough to really be more than a display of support, in this reporter's opinion. Final Attack on Soorman's Fortress Begins [Image: 800px-RoK_K1_88-Tank_landing_from_LCAC.jpg] A Darkstraitese tank coming ashore on the beach in front of Soorman's Fortress Darkstraitese and coalition troops began a massive assault on the fortress of the Transsunerian terrorist Grandmaster Soorman a few days ago. International commandos and special forces began the assault from helicopters and small boats, quickly breaking through the perimeter and setting up defensive lines while they waited for the main assault. The international navy, which had withdrawn in the threat of sarin use on the populations of major Transsunerian cities, returned in full force. The base was heavily shelled and bombed, and thousands of troops in landing boats came ashore, tearing through Soormen defenses. The latest updates from the battlefield indicate success so far, as troops push toward Soorman's bunker. Stay posted, as events continue to unfold.
