What is your real concern here?

Simply justice.

If the Courts say he's guilty, then that's that, no issues.

But if they find him innocent of the crimes that this Security Threat is essentially accusing him of, wouldn't it be a corruption of the system to allow this declaration to stand?

Wolf,

No, the security declaration is in itself a force that has now been determined by the cabinet, elected by the people, and the Assembly, which is the people.

The only reason I'm interested in a trial is to see what the courts are an actual institution that works in this region for the region. For example Osiris's recent example of justice was one I found quite fascinating and enviable, don't you think?

But welcome to TSP, you are an old friend of SoutherBellz aren't you? I knew I recognized you from somewhere. There are many interesting things to contribute to the South Pacific.

If you need some ideas feel free to PM me. Smile

I'm sure we could put your fervor for justice to good use Smile

Osiris' recent example of justice? Do tell, I'm quite keen to hear what you mean as I recently presided over two trials. One for treason, the other for forum destruction. The first trial lasted less than eight hours.

You are basically saying that you intend to use Belschaft to fulfill a personal interest. That is just wrong.

Yes, I know you will argue that is not what you meant, but that is what it sounds like, and what it looks like at this point. I fail to see how having Osiris convict someone of treason is enviable, I feel sorry that Osiris needed to take those steps. I am glad the South Pacific has little need for a judiciary most of the time.

Kris, take a step back now and reconsider your words very very carefully.

I'll be on IRC in a bit once I've calmed down but you really need to stop this now.

I don't put words in your or anyone else's mouth and I would be very careful with trying to spin mine.

Osiris has had very little need for a judiciary over the course of its life, whereas the Court is an integral feature of a unique society for the North Pacific, for instance.

In the last few weeks it's been more active than anytime in the last three years.

Yes, but the Court's job is to read the laws and determine if those laws have been broken or not. They are not suppose to be subject to popular opinion. That's what separates the Court from a lynch mob.

Well, if they follow the law as it is written and rule upon the law objectively, I don't foresee any issues. It is the Assembly's job, after all, to write the laws, and the Court can only interpret and rule upon those laws.

Yes, Bell and I worked together on quite a few occasions in the past.
