PUFFIN WINS SECOND TERM; RUNNER-UP VOWS REVENGE
The re-election of Bachtendekuppen to the office of WA Delegate is not breaking news, but there are yet unpublished details you will want to know. A mysterious write-in candidate came in a close second, nearly upsetting the entire balance of The East Pacific.

Bachtendekuppen ran on a platform to correct his first term's oversights, but continue on its' course of keeping TEP united and building foreign relations. The oversights involved not using the region-wide telegram feature more than a few times in four months. A success was a convention to fix the Conclave, resulting in an amendment to the Concordat.

Going forward, Bach has taken personal charge over the EP News Service, and started the confidential Foreign Affairs Committee with the Magisterium to discuss foreign policies and treaties. This term is expected to be a better version of previous one.

The runner-up's candidacy was not announced, but amassed nine votes to Bach's twelve. "Abstain" promised to seek revenge on Bach and establish his regime by urging all WA members in TEP to leave the WA, leaving the WA Delegacy vacant in TEP. Abstain is expected to lose his large percentage in the next election. The other candidates in this election, Hobbes and Prussia, are expected to run again in four months, since Bach is legally barred from seeking another consecutive term.

FOREIGN MINISTRY EVOLVES
The Minstry of Foreign Affairs was reorganized to focus ambassadors attention. TEP's foriegn affairs has changed enormously in the past eight months.

Former Delegate A Mean Old Man recalled all ambassadors because of their inactivity. During his term, only one, infamous update was published. Additionally, he created the Ministry of Treaties and Formal Alliances to focus on securing treaties with our fellow GCRs.

Four months ago, Bach was elected. One of his first acts was dismissing the Ministers of Treaties and Formal Alliances, and instead appointing Old Federalia (your's truly) as Minister of Foreign Affairs. Ambassadors were hired and assigned in teams to groups of regions.

This term, the MoFA has reassigned the ambassadors. They are no longer in groups, and are only assigned to two regions each. That's right: 2 regions per ambassador. That means the strength and focus of our relations is dependent on the people entrusted to represent TEP abroad. The ambassadors are assigned to just one GCR and one UCR. We may not be able to send an ambassador to your region if you are a smaller UCR, but assure you we desire to hear from you and will continue posting updates in all TEP's embassies.

Immigrants arrive in troves...a new era for TEP?

IMMIGRANTS FLOOD ADMIN REQUESTS
Newcomers continue to plague the quiet lives of TEP's administrators. Recent changes to the citizenship application has doubled new citizenships. The Citizenship Comission, or CitiCom, removed the google survey, and reverted back to the tried-and-true thread. CitiCom was established by former Viceroy Jurisdictions to oversee the induction of new nations, and continues during Viceroy Todd McCloud's term. It's member are Chairman Tano and Old Federalia.

The dust storm enveloping the Capital District.

DUST STORM FOLLOWS ROLEPLAY FORUM RENOVATIONS
Citizens are trapped in their homes as a dust storm rages in The East Pacific. The dust came from years of roleplay posts being moved by the admin staff in a historic reorganization of the famed TEP Evolved regional modern tech roleplay.

With sharp prodding from Magister Aelitia and MoFA Old Federalia, the admins agreed to needed changes to the dormant roleplay forums. Old and new ways are being incorporated in a new forum structure. In addition, IC changes are being introduced to produce activity, such as a Cold War and international confederation. It is hoped that IC factions will OOCly train new RPers.

East Malaysia, a 10 year veteran of TEP, is hard at work hammering together the new structure. At it's core, TEP is a center for roleplaying, and with admins like EM, Todd McCloud, Packlivania, and Hobbes, (and returned LOOP!), the RP will flourish again.

XENOPHOBIA IGNITES SUSPICIONS Wink
Rameaus, Ambassador to the World Assembly, proposed an amendment to require a WA nation in TEP for citizenship. Despite failing to gain support in TEP's community, it sparked Provost ASBS to propose a radically xenophobic law.

The Public Official Disclosure Act passed this week. Government members will be required to disclose their involvement in other regions within 30 days. There is absolutely no opposition to this invasion of privacy, with many having volunteered the information ahead of time. A subforum was created to post "Public Disclosure Forms."

Loop's Flag

1 INFINITE LOOP ROLLS ON
The famed founder of TEP's government pre-Empire and pre-Concordat has refounded his nation. His appearance on the forum has been punctuated by threads discussing issues such as Obamacare, video games, and why 390 users were on TEP's forum on 2/22/12.

TEP is celebrating his return with a new holiday, Loop's Day on May 25th. It will be preceeded by a week of celebration starting on May 19th to celebrate the wonderful delegates of TEP.

WA Amb. Rameaus is drafting a SC Resolution to Commend 1 Infinite Loop. It has been positively received by the WASC community. TEP's community previously tried to commend Loop, but his nation CTEd.

General Xoriet preparing for battle.

INTERVIEW WITH GENERAL XORIET
An old man is escorted by armed guards into a pitch black room. Raising a crooked finger into the air, OF asks "Who-who's there?" A blinding light shines in his face, then Xoriet says, "I will be asking the questions."
OF: Well no, this is an interview.
X: It's necessary for security.
OF: Well, alright.
X: You wish to interview me, I hear. Why do you wish to interview me?
OF: Don't talk so fast, young missy. I have to write this down. *proceeds to type on a typewriter* You are the new general of the Eastern pacific Soveriegn army, so an interview would be appropriate for the foreign update this month.
X: Yes, I certainly am. Are you interested in discovering what I plan to do with EPSA?
OF: What?! Am I interested in riding an elephant? I can't with my advanced age.
X: Fortunately there is no elephant riding required. Elephants are superfluous because of EPSA's superiority.
OF: Listen here, rebelious youth, you're the general. You need to command the troops and defend TEP's sovereignty, not ride elephants.
X: Are you even interested in the future of the EPSA? I started a Mentor Program to train new soldiers and keep veterans on their toes.
OF: Oh, why didn't you say so? What channel is the Mentor Program on? Where is the television remote?
X: Uh...anyways, I am overseeing the first communications between the assigned mentors and their mentees. In the first week I have been here we have already gone on five missions, four defender-based and one raid-based. I intend to have EPSA deployed in the field at all times to prevent inactivity and raids when members are unable to be active.
OF: Where is this field? I'm glad the next generation is playing outside and not inside with their gameboys and televisions.
X: Currently the most outstanding new members of EPSA are God-Emperor, who was chosen as a mentor for his experience and loyalty, and Optios, who is my personal mentee and has already completed eight missions since I started mentoring him a few days before becoming General.
OF: Oh, excuse me, young lady. It's six o'clock, time for bed. I have to go now...

Thanks for reading!

Delegate
