Vice President Marisol Espinoza recently resigned from the ruling Nationalist Party, following longstanding disagreements with President Ollanta Humala and First Lady Nadine Heredia. She had previously been blocked by the First Couple from becoming President of Congress and had been spied upon by the National Intelligence Directorate. Some say she might run in 2016 for Congress with another party.
