| Charter Amendment: Article 4, Section 2 |
The following vote is to amend the Charter. This aims to amend discrepancies present regarding whether charges can be filed against residents that do not have citizenship. This relates to a legal decision from the Court back in March.
You can read the discussion thread HERE, and the Court's response to the legal question referred to HERE. The proposed amendments are identified by struck out red text and in bold blue text below. Voting will last for 5 days and will require 75% support to pass. Time remaining to vote can be found HERE. Section 2 - Criminal Cases 1. If charges are filled against a citizen resident the case will be held in the High Court. 2. A justice may file charges against a citizen resident, provided they recuse themselves from the case.
