In separate statements, both Irykia and the Ryccian junta have refused to recognize the Frost maritime expansion. Irykia criticized the enlargement as "illegitimate" and "flying in the face of every conceivable international norm". The junta went further, vowing to retaliate with "the worst punishment possible" against the Frost Empire if it dared stop their commercial and military ships travelling in the area.

The Besernian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated earlier today that they do not recognise the extended territorial waters set by the Frost Empire in good faith after the recent bill was passed in the Frost Empire by an ultranationalist coalition, and will only recognise contemporary maritime boundaries as set by the World Forum and relevant international law and authorities; territorial sea until 12 nautical miles from coastline or baseline.

A community-effort cultural project has started in all Besernian counties by the National Heritage Board today. The project, title translated in Austral being "The Heritage Effort", involves each county government or a group of county governments involving as much residents as possible in creating a crowd-made artwork dedicated to the history, traditions and culture of Besern, their state(s) or their county(ies). A team of professional artists, art teachers and others in the art scene, i.e. animators and art students, and a team of historians, etc. where appropriate have been selected to lead a set of groups of these efforts, and resources will be provided by the National Heritage Board and state or county Government where reasonable and approved by the Project Director, even though recyclable resources and borrowed resources from individual residents are heavily encouraged.
