BREAKING NEWS: INTERNATIONAL OUTCRY OVER OPERATION AFFIRMED

Kringalia has proposed the expulsion of Qvait from the SCO

Stockholm, Qvait - Qvait is facing immense international pressure due to the leak of Operation Affirmed, a plan to overthrow the government of Sporaltryus. Timothy Carlson leaked tonight a text that used substitution cipher, which was quickly decoded by amateur hackers from Farengeto and revealed to be the aforementioned plan. Sporaltryus immediately terminated relations with both Qvait and Darkstrait. Farengeto and Kringalia quickly followed suit and strongly condemned Qvait for its actions.

Operation Affirmed was to be activated in case Sporaltryus declared war on Ryccia. It called for air strikes on key sites and the subsequent invasion of Sporaltryus. Once occupied a puppet regime would be installed, under the leadership of pro-Qvait activist Avery Wilson, and attempts would be made to expel Sporaltryus from both the Southern Cooperation Organisation and the Southern Socialist Union. It is unclear how Qvait expected to successfully execute the plan, considering the numerous allies that Sporaltryus has in the South Pacific. It is worth pointing out that the Southern Cooperation Organisation is currently the largest international organisation in the region and has members in most known continents.

Following the leak of Operation Affirmed, Ambassador Michael Stork of Kringalia submitted Resolution 003 to the Southern Council, calling for the immediate expulsion of Qvait from the Organisation and the condemnation of it and Darkstrait for their roles in the conspiracy. Both Sporaltryus and Farengeto have supported the resolution, though the Resentine Kingdom has expressed reservations over condemning Darkstrait, arguing that its role was to remain neutral and that its contributions would have been minor. Ambassador Stork informed the Treasure Island Report that President Walsh has given him specific instructions not to remove Darkstrait from the resolution, in line with the tough stance that Kringalia plans to take towards international threats.

Ryccia was tangentially referenced in the text of Operation Affirmed as one of the states permitted to access the operational details. Once the leak was decoded, Ryccia issued apologies for its role and claimed that His Majesty José I had impersonated King Edward and approved the plan in his place. This story has been questioned by the Farengeto government, who questions its plausibility. Already burdened by international sanctions, Ryccia has managed to avoid most of the international backlash.

Despite the short time after these revelations, effects already expand beyond Qvait and the Southern Cooperation Organisation. Sporaltryus has rejected the application of Qvait to join the Southern Socialist Union and has initiated an international trial against Darkstrait. Similarly, both Karnetvor and the Resentine Kingdom have withdrawn from the Qvait-sponsored negotiations for a Collective Security Treaty, while Ubesii has closed the Qvaitican and Ryccian embassies in its territory. Reactions from other nations are expected, as their governments get notice of Operation Affirmed and determine their stances towards it.

TI Report is a newspaper ran by MoRA, but written from a roleplay perspective. IC, it is written by guest writers from different newspapers. OOC, if have a story and can write it well, we can publish your article. Issues are published every two weeks, so there will always be a chance to write.

Not really. Though not because of their satirical nature, rather because the Report is its own newspaper, so its focus isn't to republish articles. We'd be more than happy to have Scallion writers contribute original pieces.

Not sure if I'm making sense? Smile
