21 August 2015 Edition / Great Council Preview, Judicial Elections

The editor should had asked me instead of assuming Im that stupid. And that Henn protested Feir's appointment as ambassador. As said by Henn and Hile, not true. Im listing SPINN as a untrustworthy news source for not getting its facts straight.

But how can I get experience in being a Justice? By trying it. So far, the only way you get experience as a Justice is just one, simple but also complex procedure: being elected.

That is exactly what I mean. You have arguments and are taking the time to say exactly what you believe is inaccurate or unfair about the editorial. This can be discussed in this thread, and is actually relevant to the point the editorial is trying to make. It is completely opposite to focusing on who the author is, like knowing would change anything about what has already been written, and especially since SPINN has already said at least three times that it will not reveal who its writers are.

Editorials do not have to be unbiased.

In my words, bias is having a liking to someone, something, someones and somethings in an opinion. Long story short, not good for news articles for them to be truly trustworthy. Also not good for the Judicial Systems of the world.

No, it is not. Editorials are meant to give an opinion. It is against their very nature to be unbiased.

For me, the best way for a newspaper proper is to be unbiased, but editorials should not be. That I give Kris credit.

You could show your reasoning and writing skills elsewhere. You could be an active commentator on legal debates. Being thrust into a position isn't the best way to learn the skills needed to be effective at it. Why should that be an acceptable way of electing people for anything? There's at best a 50/50 chance you'll royally fuck it up or do extremely well. I don't like those chances, which is why I voted to re-open nominations both times in hopes that someone with more qualifications would end up running.

And let's face it, you're really young in a region with an average age somewhere in the 20s. If you were born in 2001 as your signature suggests, then I've got a decade on you. That's not nothing. The age gap can be hard to overcome, when you're running for a position most people think requires a lot of experience and maturity.

As for Punchwood, he's seen by a lot of older players as a rules violator lacking in maturity himself. He was banned for posting info about Kris, and then argued about how it wasn't a big deal. There's a reason why I didn't want him as a deputy when he applied when I was MoFA. He ran as a last resort candidate -- "who else are you going to vote for?" -- and that, in my opinion, doesn't scream confidence in the judiciary. Maybe he'll prove himself a decent Justice. But, again, I don't like the odds.

I would love to be a commentator on legal debates, but the problem with TSP politics is that either you have nothing to say or just that there is so much debating I get lost. It gets tiring after a while.

However, the advice and argument is good, I'll give you that.

I never ran on any platform, I ran and I won with almost a majority. On the info on Kris answer me this: Did I ever say "This is Kris's name?" Did I? No! Only Kris knew who I was talking too so don't try and make it seem like I tried to harm Kris in any way as I would never.

I don't care if what someone's age is as this is a GAME!!!! It's not really life is it? Were here to have fun and enjoy ourselves. It's the old order who think everyone should do this and do that who ruin this game. You lot think only you and the few of the new players you like because they agree with you on every issue should run TSP. I'm fed up of it and I'm sure other are too, now is the time where new players can rise up and stop the old order ruining this game, and make it fun again.

Let me make something clear. Revealing personally identifiable information about a user is punishable by permanent ban, under current moderation policies in this forum. Forum Administration was lenient enough that you were given a two-week ban. Had it followed the rules to the letter, you would not be here at all, so how about you do not diminish what happened in that particular incident.

Let's please not get started on the old Oligarchy argument. I'm supposed to have another month or two before I'm scheduled to be kicked out. Tounge
