Interview with Fudgetopia Fudgetopia is proof that NationStates -and the South Pacific in particular- affect our lives, and those of others. She joined in 4 September 2003 and quickly rose through the ranks, serving as Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Vice President before succeeding Caer Rialis as Delegate of the South Pacific. She went on to serve for almost four years and worked hard to maintain the relaxed and party nature of the region. Since stepping down in 2010 she has taken a more passive role, her last major participation taking place during the Milograd Coup, when she helped with resistance efforts. Since then she logs in sporadicaly, but always keeps her lighthearted nature and catches up on the Regional Message Board. Southern Journal was privileged enough to gain some time with her, where we could get some insight into her previous experience and her thoughts on the current state of the region. How did find NationStates? What made you stick around for the following eleven years? I found NS through a site I used to go to in University. It was just interesting things to do, really  . I have always been interested in politics and this seemed to be the place to come .You are best known as the longest serving Delegate in the history of the South Pacific, but you also served as Vice President and as Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs. How did serving in those positions help you face the challenges of the delegacy? Good question - it's been so long since I actually thought about this. Foreign Affairs let me meet a lot of other people and forge strong ties with the other Pacifics, VP lead me to the realisation that it was a hard job. Could you share with us a moment from your delegacy that you feel is, for better or worse, the most memorable? There's a lot, actually. But I would have to say handing over to Southern Bellz after 3 years was amazing - to be able to hand the reins to someone who was passionate and dedicated was such a relief. The SP would be still around as the free region it has always been. What did you enjoy the most about serving as Delegate? Is there anything that you would change? Meeting the members of the region and seeing the newbies come in and find their niches. What I would change? Hmm. I probably would have actually done the whole booting spree...just to see what it felt like. *muhahahaha* You served as Delegate for three years, and in that time oversaw the arrival of several promising players. What made you realise that Southern Bellz was a suitable successor? Did you give him any tips on how to best lead the region? Southern Bellz was passionate. He was ready to take the region and make it grow - and that was something I admired. You played the role of traitor during the Milograd Coup, while secretly backing the Coalition. Did you fear at any moment that the coup might not be defeated? Always. But, having been through several coups now, it is always hard to see the region go to pieces. You always fear that what you fought for will be lost. How do you see the South Pacific now, in terms of culture and politics, as opposed to how it was in late 2003 and during your delegacy? The SP is still a friendly, relaxed place. In 2003, it was unsure and uncertain - I came in just after the XYZ affair and it was still fresh on everyone's mind. TSP has always been the 'fun' region, and I think it's much the same now. The politics have grown and matured from what was a fledgling, unsure group who had been through basically hell and back, to a set of standards that have matured to a really strong region. Is there anything you would like to say about the delegacy of Tsunamy, now that it is entering its eighth month? Tsunamy rocks. He's awesome, always has been. Awe is eager to know how are Wiggle and Squeak. Are they growing up fine? Wiggle and Squeak, (as I write this) are currently running around the living room with toys and chatting and squealing. They are almost 2 now, and we still see specialists because of some issues they had, they're otherwise healthy, exceedingly active, independent, determined and stubborn toddlers  .I now have to ask the usual off-topic questions. What is your favourite book? Movie? TV show? LOL. Book - Absolutely - Joanna Lumley. Movie - The Wizard of Oz. TV Show - I don't really watch TV. I like Mock the Week when it's on. You are given a lampshade and a grass skirt. What do you do next? Seriously? You swing off a chandelier with Curly, of course. Cake or Pie? Pie. Tsu was in his eigth month as Delegate.
That being said, I would rather she answer about tsu, since she knew him, compared to a talking food who she's never really met.
As has been said already, Fudgetopia logs in very rarely nowadays. She was asked these questions months ago and answer back as soon as she could.
