As he said, there is no pressing reason for them to reverse the practise. I watched this roll out, and I believe some of their decision was probably influenced by the rudeness of some people how how try demanded it be changed back. Now I think we should just leave it at that and let the Election roll out, shall we?

Hey, I have a bunch of issues. You don't need to care.

No. Part of NS is dealing with the international attention that comes with your actions or lack thereof. Hiding the Election forums from people in our region who are not citizens or don't wish to get involved in the SPSF or the Fellowship Program is the exact opposite of what we've been trying to accomplish for several years.

You can't keep trying to get the game side community more involved when you block out opportunities for them to see how we do things on the forum.

By blocking access to the Election forums you are feeding the belief that the forum just expects the game side to do what we say. This decision isn't one that let's anyone work together. It further separates the forum from the region.

1. Those arguing about this issue on the RMB, who are decidedly "forumites," aren't in any position to say what the gameside feels or doesn't feel. Let's not start assuming you're anybody's representative.

2. The permissions structure has been in place for over a year, without any outside calls for it to change.

3. The only time non-TSPers have cared about our elections is when they're trying to manipulate them, or they want to make them controversial. It's not as if there's great interest from "NS media" to cover our relatively routine and boring elections. Nonetheless, elections aren't secret and if any citizens wants to share who's running, winning, or losing, they're free to do so.

I have to ask, why can non-citizens see and post in the Great Council area, but are not able to view elections?
And could you please provide evidence of a time when the elections were made to be controversial by non-TSPers.

The decision won't be changed for this election cycle. As said in the response, admins may reconvene to discuss this afterwards.
