Toxicity
#21

(02-13-2016, 11:00 AM)Cathalea Wrote: Cormac, you're not a long time active member of TSP. You don't know what or who the greater community is. When the Transitional Government was formed, you came in strong, but when the Coalition was restored, all I've been seeing was attacks on Kris, attacks on Glen, maybe an attack on Unibot. Your unwillingness to learn of the greater community by partaking in what they do leads you to not fully realize the extent of your attacks on longtime active TSPers. You're driving other TSPers away since they see the Assembly as a place of toxicity, attacks, and general feelings that don't give fun for them.

That's probably the most important point. You're not letting others have their fun. The Great Council was your chance for reconciliation, you said, but in the process, you're insulting the veil of TSP by attacking some of the people who are most connected to it, and not caring for those who call it their home. It's just not fun, and isn't that the purpose of a game? If it's not, please forward me that email from Max.

I've known Glen-Rhodes and Unibot for nearly all the four years I've been playing NationStates, inside and outside of TSP. I was around when Kris first arrived on the scene in 2013. I know just about everyone here in TSP except for some of the more recent newcomers. The idea that I don't know these people because I don't participate in spam games and RP is basically ridiculous, and this entire post is an ad hominem attack -- though, I grant you, not as bad an attack as the one I received by PM from someone else and reported for flaming. That attack contained insults like "retarded" (yay ableist slurs!), "bloody annoying," and "Shut. Up."

But I guess personal attacks and flaming are okay when they're against people you've decided aren't really part of the community, and when your side is doing it. How hypocritical but how unsurprising.

In any event, I appreciate the constructive, if blunt, conversation Kris and I had earlier in the thread, and I look forward to posting the constitutional draft I've spent days working on -- contrary to the assertion that I contribute nothing to TSP just because I don't participate in spam games -- as soon as the Great Council starts.

That's cuz the third one don't like getting involved in the drama. And would appreciate if you'd stop connecting mobile apps to personal views.
Um, what are you talking about? That's not what I was joking about at all... sometimes I worry about what people take and misunderstand.

Well, excuse me for lacking telepathy. It sure didn't look like you were joking, and instead making accusations. Apologies, m'lady.

@Cormac
Why don't you just tell everyone who sent it? You did it in the election place. Here, I'll tell everyone for you.
Hey everyone! I sent the evil message to Cormac! Watch out for yours which will be arriving shortly!
I am Zadiner/Zak. Part of Assembly, some other stuff, Founder of some other region.

Reputation is something that has to go. It's a stupid way for children to make people seem bad by giving them a negative score.

That would be something to ask in the Operations Centre. You are welcome to make a request there.

Okay so one of the Goals of APC is to reduce toxicity so I am all for having civil discussions about this however, what this thread became in it's early stages was toxic in my view. We need to actually all just find a definition for what is considered toxic or ask for a definition from the high court.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

What's APC? Also, toxicity isn't a legal question.

APC is the alliance for the Protection of the Coalition. It's the political party Ryccia started that I am now chair of.
On the legal question note I believe if we asked the court for a definition of toxicity they could give us one as legal advice.

They wouldn't. Legal questions are interpretations of the Charter or the laws. To formulate one, you must refer to specific articles and clauses. Asking for a definition of toxicity wouldn't be accepted by the Court.
