Uncomfortable with certain mod actions

I then came to the Operations Center to lodge my opinion in a professional and respectful manner. I did not accuse you of being corrupt, or evil, or not having our best interests at heart — I gave my opinion. I am told we live in a region where that is allowed.

And furthermore, the implication that my opinion is somehow irreconcilable with my "ideas" is rather upsetting.

This response is disappointing, and to be completely honest Tsu, a little beneath you.

Let's be clear -- I fielded calls to close that thread for two days before I actually did. I tried to bring it back on topic and was in the process of trying to pull everyone together.

This is this my most graceful moment? No. I'm aware of that.

Did I just snap at you? Absolutely. So my legitimately sorry if I'm reacting out of anger.

Frankly, I'm frustrated and out of ideas. I've been mediating fights literally all day today and it's starting to get the better of me.

We both know that I only intervene when all else fails and -- I agree with you -- that I hope that remains an admin policy. But, I'm not going to lie that when I've given my all and still get criticized, I take it personally. So once again, I apologize if I've been harsh.

I accept your apology. I understand this is an incredibly challenging period, but I truly believe that ignoring behavior we are opposed to in the short-term in the name of harmony, is part of the culture that has kicked our problems down the road. I think we need to be frank and honest, while also being appreciative.

Thank you for your effort. Thank you for your service. Your hard work has not be overlooked — at least by me. I want to thank the entire administrative team for their unpaid service. Thank you.

Keep your chin up Tsu; we all know that this isn't easy for you, but no one else could hold the region together like you are right now. We're all grateful for that.

Yeah, yeah but I'll have to agree with HEM here. I don't think an admin closing a thread where citizens are discussing an important issues no matter if it was productive or not and then threatening to delete it and others isn't very democratic or productive in my view.

Yeah, I get that this is difficult for you, Tsu, but that's a discussion thread on something currently at vote in the Assembly. Not only have you locked it, you've threatened to lock any new thread related to it. That isn't going to fly. You're depriving the Assembly of the means to discuss a recall that is currently at vote. I don't care how contentious it is; you can't do that.

I'm requesting that the thread be unlocked. If it isn't unlocked, I'm going to start a new thread. And if that is locked as well I'm going to petition the Court for violation of my rights as a resident, as well as starting recall and forum move votes. You are vastly exceeding your legal powers, either as Delegate or as root administrator.

Please, Cormac, that thread hasn't been on topic since your last post on the topic. Even HEM acknowledged it's not on topic.

If you want to start a thread and discuss the vote at hand -- by all means. That's worth having. (I even commented to the Cabinet earlier that I thought your redirect was great this morning.)

But, if you want to start a thread where Bels and GR can argue tit-for-tat about how to make sure both sides lose equal amounts, that's not gonna fly.

Let me be clear -- I apologized for yelling at HEM. I didn't -- nor will I -- apologize for closing that thread.

Edit: I even started a new thread for you to discuss. http://tspforums.xyz/thread-3809.html

I'll reiterate my points to HEM and Cormac. I did this as delegate -- not as an admin. If you want to recall me, feel free.

I also never threatened to delete a thread, I threatened to close them.

That argument, wasn't, isn't and isn't going to be productive, Punch. Everyone sees that.

If we want to discuss Sam's recall, please do. I'd encourage it.

If opening a new thread isn't going to see it instantly shut down, that's fine. The other thread was off-topic. Regarding the Glen vs. Bel tit-for-tat, I can't control what they do, but Assembly discussions shouldn't be shut down because two people can't behave themselves. Action needs to be taken against those people.

In any case, as long as the Assembly can still discuss this vote, I don't have a problem. But we can't be preventing Assembly discussion of ongoing Assembly votes, that's all I'm saying.

See above. I have little interest in reprimanding people, tbh. But if you have a way that we can work with that to make sure people keep it civil, I'm happy to hear it.

I've stated my opinion, and despite implications to the contrary, that's all I set out to do.

Due to timezone differences, I was asleep when the last call to close the thread was posted. While I have previously attempted to get the discussion back on track, in situations where the discussion has once again been derailed such as this, I would not have been opposed to a call by Assembly members to lock the thread.

In this instance, the locking of the thread by Tsu was justified, and I would have done the same.
