Academy of Southtalk
#1

Academy of Southtalk/Palavra of Southtalk/Палавра оф Соутталк

I have counted those words. 40! That's good for a language that just started a few days ago.

With your collaboration and enthusiasm, this is becoming possible. As of now, the Academy of Southtalk, the academy that regulates Standard Southtalk, is open!

The Academy is in charge of:
  • Regulating the language of Southtalk
  • Classifying other dialects other than Standard
  • Promoting the language in TSP and overseas
  • Contributing to the making of the language and its vocabulary
(When terms end): Four of the five-member council seats are up for grabs! In this first year, I, as Academy President and Council President, will appoint the four. You have to apply in order to get in:
Code:
[b]Nation in Nationstates:[/b]
[b]Intentions on why you want to join the Council:[/b]
[b]What could you contribute to the Academy and the language:[/b]
[b]Are you willing to speak Southtalk if possible, not insult the language and, over time, become fluent in Southtalk if possible?[/b]
[b]Are you willing to spread Southtalk in the region and overseas, and establish communities overseas if possible?[/b]

The Council President is chosen by the Southtalk Supreme Linguistic Academy Council(or SSLAC or just the Council) annually. The Academy President is not chosen, he/she stays there until his/her death or CTE.

ATTENTION TO ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS

The first dictionary of Southtalk is created. Now, I motion the official approval of this dictionary by the Academy to a vote.

Vote will end in March 16, 4:00 PM UTC -4(No DST)

Now, I propose another matter.

What writing system should we use? Should we keep Latin and Cyrillic? Should we adopt another system? Or create a new one?

For now I'm in favor of sticking with Latin. I can try to develop a few alternative scripts that are computer-friendly, though.

All council members have been dismissed for lack of activity and to restart the leadership of the Academy. If you were a council member and would like to get your seat back, or if you would like to have a seat, please, apply. However, you will be remembered in perpetuity as the 1st Academic Council.

In addition, all seats are now held for life until the council member retires or CTEs.

Thank you for your cooperation,
-Ryccia, Academic President
