Informal Poll on the Events in Osiris

Don't you think the word some minimizes the differences?

For the record, I voted for "Stay Neutral, no statement".

An informative brief on this topic can be found in the other thread.

A few people in power decided they had a broader mandate than any reasonable observer would assume, and claiming serious issues with the status quo, they decided to eject their opponents, dissolve the government and establish an instutitution called the 'Transitional Government'.

Much like The Force Awakens with A New Hope, the Osiris coup has more than a few similarities with our recent coup.

Not that it matters. This isn't the topic of this thread, so let's not further derail it with pointless comparisons.

1. Transitional Government is illegitimate.
2. The OFO was also illegitimate. I would only support a new regime that takes democracy seriously, and that means taking a hard stance of GCR coups.
3. Cormac, Tim, and Koth should be summarily banned from joining TSP, along with anybody else who coups from this point onward.

Ditto.

The OFO did originally take democracy seriously, but apparently that changed during the period where I wasn't involved with the executive. I have a hard time reconciling what was the OFO I supported and the aims of that government with what I am seeing now.

After discussion I believe that we should send an envoy to both sides.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

I will obviously be abstaining from this due to my huge conflict of interest, except to say that I am happy to (privately) answer any questions, as it would not be appropriate for me to do so in a foreign capacity here.

I will point out to Glen that I can't be barred from citizenship, as I am already a citizen.

Why are you censoring Osiris and effectively destroyed democracy without the consent of the people? Is it because you tried to do a recall that failed, so you used Plan B to keep your comrades in power? You knew that such system of government would've failed in a democratic society.

I can compare this coup to other coups. Lazarus's coup, TSP's 2016 coup, TSP's Milo Coup... heck, there are non-NS examples, like the Galactic Empire in Star Wars! And we can agree that the Galactic Empire is evil, no?

Were those so-called governments legitimate? No.

You think you know best than your former citizen comrades?

Think again. Do the right thing, and at least stop censoring so much.
