APC Summit: Manifesto/Platform
#11

We formed as ARC which was made during the T-gov't constitutional convention. ARC purpose was to restore the Coalition by passing a revised charter through that convention. Ryccia (who was chair then) after the coup was over rebranded us as the APC which makes our purpose to work to make sure ARC would never have to be refounded. Ryccia resigned as chair and where I was the only member then I was made chair. I decided that this should be a party that advocated for freedom for all, and a responsive goverment of, for, and by the people that would listen and work for those very same people and their well being.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

  • Role the SPSF should have in regional politics and diplomacy
  • Media and the freedom of the press
  • Freedom of speech
  • RP and culture
Anyone got anything better?

Foreign- Pro-Allies, show support for nations, TSP should help out during troubles in other regions, ex: coups, raiding, etc.
Power for people- Allow people to have power left to them not mentioned in the charter
Gameside in politics- I believe the new charter has addressed this, just follow the charter
Enforcement- Laws should be enforced equal without special privilege
Transparency- we elect the government, there should be no reason why we don't know whats going on in private (after due time)
Responsiveness- address all grievances of citizens without delay to the best of our ability
Role of SPSF- Untie their hands, allow them to do what they need to achieve our goals
Media/Press- Free press always regardless
Free speech- Always no limit unless it breaks the rules of spam pornography etc.
RP and Culture- Allow ministry of regional affairs to propose holidays, develop a distinct TSP culture.

Foreign Policy- We should be pro-ally and work together with our allies and always be try to make new friends and not enemies. WE should mainly focus on promoting culture, however we are open to co-op military operations so long as we help re-establish the region afterwards or it's to help rid NS of Neo-Nazi regions or alike.

Power of the People- The people should always be in charge. The Cabinet and the Delegate should be elected by the people by PR. The Assembly should always have the power to overturn a Cabinet Decision if a 2/3s majority votes in favour of overturning the Cabinet policy.

Gameside- Like Griffin I think the new Charter covered this perfectly.

Enforcement- The Cabinet and High Court should enforce the laws and there should be no special treatment given to anyone we are all equal. Including admins.

Transparency- The documents from an old Cabinet should be made public at the start of the new Cabinet.

Responsiveness- As soon as possible a deadline of 20 days should be made or the Cabinet can face action unless the Cabinet cannot respond due to security issues.

SPSF Role- They should be allowed to R/D freely so long as they do not attack an ally's region or a region under protection of an ally. Thy must also help re-establish the region they raided and not let the region fall.

Freedom of Speech- The same as Griffin, free speech so long as it does not brake admin rules.

RP & Culture- Again same as Griffin we should grow our culture and show try and spread it abroad.

I am not a member of the APC, and so in many respects have no right to post here, but:

1) I'm trying to decide if I want to join, and, really, that's down to what your platform turns out to be, thus I'm interested in the outcome.

2) I spotted a point in Punchwood's post that ought to be clarified and, whilst you're a long way off finessing, I figured I'd add my tuppence now anyway.

It needs to be made very clear that the SPSF are free to R/D if and only if they are adhering to the general foreign policy quoted above. There should be (I'm tempted to say 'severe') consequences for any member of the SPSF who does not abide by that policy. I'm personally not very comfortable with completely unaccountable military actions (which I am sure it not what you were intending, and yet it's how it could come across).

I'll go now. I'll try to close the door quietly.

If y'all don't mind I will be making what we have so far into a formal document and combine it with our current simi-platform.
Do y'all want this to be called a platform or a manifesto (leaning toward platform because I'm American but open to other ideas.)
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.
