Parliament Foriegn Declaration #109, regarding the Farengeto Civil War

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Parliament of the Federation of the Resentine Kingdom

17th Parliament of the Federation

Parliamentary Session #2, Day 124

Author: Representative Zacharija Belisarius(LD-Balent)

Co-Authors:  Representative Sam al-Basra(LD-Charon), Representative Mika Brzezinski(FR-Anton), Representative Carl Prieglauda(LS-Renis), Representative Aušra Miljak (IC-Charon)

In light of the conflict in Farengeto, the Federation Parliament has seen it necessary to make a clear and concise statement regarding the situation.

Starting  on June the Seventh of the year Two-thousand and Fifteen, an illegal coup d'état was committed by then-General Maximilian Rey, in an attempt to remove political opponents in Parliament and beyond, and ending democracy in Farengeto as we knew it. For almost a year, he has placed himself at the head of a dictatorial government, with several political reprisals occurring to members of the Second, and now Third Farengetan Republic's democratically elected leaders, starting with the events on June 7th, and now culminating in the April 22nd Parliament bombing, and the Civil War. Throughout these events, there has been one man at the center of these events: None other than Maximilian Rey. Throughout his "political career" he has been a central figure in the oppression of Farengetan Political Freedom, and attempting to end democracy in Farengeto. However, with these political reprisals and blatant oppression of the Farengetan people's right to democracy, and opposition has grown to oppose Rey and his dictatorship, it falls upon the Resentinian Parliament in our duty as the voice of our constituents, the citizens of Resentine, to support the fight for Farengetan Democracy, and their right to choose their leaders.

Under Article Ten of Chapter Two of the Federation Constitution, The Rights of Parliament in Foreign Affairs,

Noting the aggressive attack on political freedoms under the rule of Maximilian Rey,

Understanding that Maximilian Rey has conclusively sought to end Democracy in Farengeto,

Seeing the lack of stability that Maximilian Rey's rule has brought to Farengeto,

Citing that Maximilian Rey's rule has become a catalyst for violence in Farengeto,

And Condemning the violence against democratically elected leaders and pro-democracy advocates in Farengeto,

Federation Parliament hereby enacts the following:

1. States that the Federation Parliament no longer recognizes Maximilian Rey, and by extension all members of his government, as the legitimate government of the nation of Farengeto.

2. States the Federation Parliament officially recognizes the Parliament of the Third Republic of Farengeto, led by Prime Minister Christopher Tatham, as the legitimate and democratically elected government of the nation of Farengeto.

3. Authorizes under Parliament Domestic Law number 1006, The Emergency Funding and Support Act of 2002, the use of Emergency and Military funds, to assist the Parliamentary Forces of Farengeto in reclaiming their nation from the dictatorship installed by Maximilian Rey.

4. Calls upon it's allies to take steps in supporting the legitimate government of Farengeto, and taking steps to ensure that the democratic process is secure in all countries, not just their own.

5. States that the Federation Parliament is willing to work with the Parliament of the Third Republic of Farengeto to ensure the democratic process remains a part of it's governmental process for years to come, in the aim to insure democracy and political freedom to all citizens of Pacifica, not just it's own.

6. Authorizes under Parliament Foriegn Affairs Law number 387, The Asylum Act of 2006, for Federation Parliament to recognize the right of Farengetan Citizens to apply for political asylum in the Federation of the Resentine Kingdom, and by such are given the rights of Political Refugees under said act.
