Resident Spotlight: Omega
#1

Omega is still a new citizen (or should I say "legislator" now?) yet has already made a name for himself as being the Editor in Chief of SPN and from being an active player. He's also been helping out in the MoRA and in the GC so we thought it was tell we learned a little bit more about him.

Ryccia: How did you find NationStates?

Omega: I literally googled "Nation building game" and Cyber Nations  showed up so I tried it (I didn't like it) but then I found Nation States. I'm kind of a government nerd.

Ryccia: Kinda like me. How long have you been in the South Pacific? Why did you decide to stay (even with that avalanche of recruitment telegrams)?

Omega: About 6 months. I stayed because I saw no reason to leave and until I did I thought I should stay. And now I'm making a place for myself here. I basically haven't seen a reason why I should leave. However, I do also have citizenship in Lazarus at this point only because I was an ambassador to them and I wanted to be active in their region.

Ryccia: What do you like most of being a TSP citizen?

Omega: I like how I am respected based on what I say. Yes I am still a new member, but people at least will respect what I have said and will consider my ideas.

Ryccia: What country are you from?

Omega: US of A

Ryccia: If you were delegate for a day, what would you do and why?

Omega: If I was delegate I don't really have any idea what I would do. I think the biggest thing would be to work with the MoFA to begin creating a more active, powerful and better educated diplomat core to help represent TSP's interests abroad. Especially now that a federation type system might come about soon I think laying ground work for that would be important.

Ryccia: Two regions are at war. The aggressor is democratic, while the victim is a dictatorship. The aggressor says it’s invading to install democracy. Who would you support?

Omega: Now as much I support democracy the way to bring it about is not by force.  If it really is the best form of government for that region they should implement it on their own. Acts of aggression should never be supported and I would withdraw any and all diplomatic and security assets in the aggressive region.

Ryccia: Cake or pie? Why?

Omega: I'm a cake person. My mother makes this amazing caramel cake that is to die for.

Ryccia: You're in luck to belong to the majority. Those pastry wars...good times.

Omega: I'm sure they were.

Ryccia: What's your favourite book, movie and/or game?

Omega: My favourite books and movies are the Lord of the Rings series. Favourite game would be Civ V.

Ryccia: Where would you rather be: an icy wasteland or a scorching desert?

Omega: I already live in a scorching desert!

Ryccia: So, you're the boss of SPN. What will happen to it in the future? Will it join the SJ and MoRA? Will it stay private and expand? Or will it stay private and be the same?

Omega: I have no idea what the future of SPN looks like. I don't see it joining the SJ any time soon. I like where I am right now however I would like it if it wasn't just me doing it. I do think that eventually I might develop a staff and maybe I could have an RP, Politics, International and other branches, but for now I'll stick to what I have.

Ryccia: Would you like to add anything else to this interview?

Omega: Ryccia I just want to say it's a joy to be in TSP. I feel like the people here are willing to accept all the crazy things I try to start and I am learning new things every day. It's been a good first few months and I look forward to the coming years.
