Amendment to Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter

The following is an amendment to Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter. Voting will remain open for five days and requires 75% support to pass.

The amendment is a proposal to codify voting times into the Charter following the conclusion of the recent Great Council

The vote will end on 5 June 2016 at 9:00am (GMT+8) A countdown timer is available here.


Quote:6. All general laws, resolutions, and treaty ratifications must be passed by a simple majority of those voting. Laws marked as constitutional laws, or resolutions that deal with issues found in constitutional laws, require a three-fifths supermajority of those voting to pass. Appointments, unless otherwise specified, require a simple majority of those voting. Votes are held for a minimum of 3 days, except for votes on constitutional law which are held for a minimum of 5 days.

The vote has ended. Results for the vote will be tabulated once a liaison to the Local Council is appointed.

Provisional results indicate that the vote has passed 13-1 (92.86%)

The Local Council representative, when appointed, will get to cast 3 votes.

Pursuant to the recent High Court ruling HCLQ1608, I declare that the Local Council representative did not cast their vote in a timely manner and thus has forfeited their vote.

This Bill is passed 13-1 (92.86%) and shall be promulgated into law
