APC Summit: Party Structure
#1

Okay so here we need to plan out how we want the party to be organized and turn that into a cohesive document.
Here's my 2 cents: We should keep Chair and Vice chair. Once we get large enough we add a reuling committee member (6 members we have 1, 9 members we have 2, 12 we have 3 and so on). This way we make sure power is not concentrated in 2 people and the committee can make smaller decisions so the entire party doesn't have to. Party Chair would Chair the committee and Vice Chair would be Vice Chair on the committee. Ruling Committee of the APC (RCAPC)  would be up for election every (insert number here) months.
I don't know what y'all want but that's what I think would work well. We need a term limit.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

So the ruling committee is the Chair and Vice-chair, and the committee members?

Okay I'm changing the name or the RCAPC to be the APC Regional Committee (APCRC) should we choose to go that route. Ruling Committee sounds to authoritarian/communist.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

I like the new acronym. I feel that this is a good system and I feel that every forth member sees the creation of a new committee member (So at 6 members a member will be created, 10, 14 and so on).

I feel that the committee would be elected a mouth before the actual elections (Every other election for clarification), so we could formulate who is running for what and who is getting our endorsements.

Since we are small now, we cant place term limits, but we can have maybe a two term length then you are blocked from running again till the term after the next.

Okay I am back in town now. Committee members serve 6 month terms with elections starting on the 1st of May and November.
What powers should the committee have? Should we hold a summit each year to look at the platform? Could we make the annual summit into a month long thing every May to look at the platform, elect APCRC members and hold a primary?
And I do agree that you should only be able to serve 2 consecutive terms but may serve again after taking a break for 1 term.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

I don't think its necessary to change the platform every year, unless a consensus of 2/3(?) agree that it needs updating due to recent events of the last year.

I think what we could do is in early May, hold the elections for Chair and such, then (if there is a consensus) update the platform before the elections, followed with the endorsement process for the upcoming election. (I personally hate a month long process for things because focus is lost and people become uninterested, (that's why I stopped participating in the Great Council), the shorter the planning and election, the better.)

In the case of the November election, just hold the election, then figure out the endorsements.

I still believe that elections for chair and such should happen a month before the executive elections (not delegate unless they happen to coincide), the elections for chair will also happen every other executive election. Chairs and vice chairs will be limited by term limits described above..

The committee will simply hold the power to make small decisions like a statements in response to a random event, and be the official voice in any negotiations. (Any other powers that need to be added?) -- The committee wont technically exist until we have at least 6 members, because until then we are small enough to make decisions together.

Alright so it looks like cabinet terms will be changed to 4 months so do we want a 4,6 or 8 month term for APCRC members?
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

8 month terms.. elections for the APCRC will be a month before every other executive election like stated.
If we were to begin this now, we could have our first election of the new APCRC at the next executive election, or call this the first term and have the election after the next executive election. I personally prefer the first option, as it will allow us to gather new members until then (since we are still small). (Does that make sense?)
