I'm still trying to read Dune. I'm 65% through it now though.
Before that I read Lord of the Flies and Catcher in the Rye. I enjoyed LotF more than Catcher for the following reasons: 1) I truly loathe Holden Caulfield. He's a horrible character. 2) I appreciated the imagery of how the children sorted themselves out on the island. 3) The kids tried. Holden doesn't. 4) I did not like how LotF ended, but at least their story was more relatable. 5) I just wanted to give Piggy a hug and a sandwich. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I can't recommend Camus enough. The Stranger is a remarkable work - in my opinion his best - and one that I feel a great deal of affinity to.

I knew you really liked Camus. But yes, The Stranger is a fantastic read. I recommend it too. (Note to self: read it again) Former Delegate of the South Pacific

Oooh, I see we have Dune fans... I'm a little bit obsessed, as evidenced by the current Spiritus government theme.
I just finished a new book called Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer; any of you read it? It was very bizarre and creepy, but I liked it a lot. It's the first in a trilogy; all three come out this year. Delegate of Spiritus

It's only one of the most amazing books ever written! I don't know how to explain it, so just read it.
