Electoral Reform legislation
#41

I see no particular reason why the recall mechanics can't be split of from the electoral reforms, if people want to do so. As they both require Charter amendments however, it might make sense to vote on the complete package first, and only bring the recall mechanics separately if that fails; cuts down on the number of votes.

I think the consensus is to vote on them separately.

As I said, I see no reason why that can't be done.

Good morning. As elections have now ended I am ready to bring this to a vote as soon as I am presented with a final draft of the legislation.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

Ok, this is the last chance to provide input/commentary - I'll be breaking this into two bills as requested, ready to be brought to vote at the weekend. Speak now or forever hold your peace Tounge

Once we have two bills and a clear motion to vote I will bring it to a vote.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

First: From what I understand here, can someone give me a final draft?

Second: I think we should make the first round of Delegate elections should be done by STV, instead of IRV/AV. We are "electing" more than one candidate, after all.

Also, fuck FPTP

I've already explained why that would be inappropriate, as STV is used when multiple individuals will be elected. In this case there is only one position available.
