At Vote: Amendment to Charter X.3 - SPSF
#11

Yes, I expect people to read what they're voting for. How is that an indictment?

This is becoming a ridiculous pattern. Whenever somebody who didn't read the Charter they voted for notices something they don't like, I'm accused of being some evil mastermind who smuggled the article in through the back door. No, DM, you simply didn't read it. Several people participated in drafting it. The entire community participated in debating it.

The Great Council was a very long, painstakingly scrutinized process. I did not sneak anything in. You're simply engaging in ad hominem attacks, because you think people will be convinced to go along with this if you can paint it as righting a wrong committed by a corrupt schemer.

I'm tired of this.

Again, I don't think the issue is that it was "snuck" in ... but rather it was already part of the former Charter, no? I mean ... we already had rules about what the SPSF could and couldn't do.

From the old charter:
Quote:Section 4 - Ministry of the Army
1. The Ministry of the Army will be led by the Minister of the Army.
2. The Ministry is responsible for overseeing the Armed Forces of the Coalition.
3. The Ministry is responsible for the defense of the region.
4. The Ministry is responsible for the creation of an Intelligence Network. The Ministry may appoint individuals to aid in gathering intelligence.

And the old military code of conduct also contained nothing restricting their actions.

So..

Complaining about what the charter currently says won't fixanything.

Which is why Roa isn't complaining, but submitting an amendment.

I motion this bill as well as the competing bill for a vote. I kindly remind the Chair that both pieces of legislation must go to vote simultaneously once seconds have been received for both bills.
