Well then for today it's time to talk about drinks! Christmas is a time for food and drink, and while we'll no doubt come back to food later on today it's about our favourite Christmas drinks. There is eggnog, mulled wine, cherry, plain wine, loads of fizzy drinks, many other spiced drinks and loads more alcohol!!! But while Christmas may be about having fun and having a good time, you can't go haywire. Not to dampen the festive mood but keep an eye on how much and what you are drinking this season. At Christmas time many often drink less water and can become dehydrated. It is also estimated that we consume an extra 500 calories a day at Christmas time just from the drinks we consume!!!! Here in Venezuela we have something called Ponche Crema. It is quite similar to eggnog; to be exact, it is eggnog, but with rum added. Besides that, we usually drink copious amounts of Coca-Cola during the dinner.

We always mull a bottle of wine and usually have some fancy non-alcoholic drinks as well. Last year I used a voucher from work to get us a bottle of Rhubarb and Ginger Gin from the Edinburgh Gin Company and, I can tell you, a glass of that goes especially well with a mince pie.
