Recesses in the Assembly
#1

Okay so having thought about it, I kind of like the idea. However, we do need to flesh it out some, so I think we need to really discuss this one. So what do y'all think on this?
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

I don't believe the assembly ought to take formal recesses. This is largely due to the fact that we'd be limiting forum activity. Individuals who need to take a break from the Assembly should put in the request for an Leave of Absence so that they do not detract from other users. I understand if you want to formalize the periods of inactivity within the assembly, however I feel that is detrimental to the Assembly with the sole exception being the holidays. But even then activity may spike during the holidays as more people have time to log into the forums.

Recess in RL legislatures works well, but, in NS legislatures, they are always open. We are not physically there for a session's worth of time. For example: I might log in at 02:00 and 14:00 in the same day. Not all legislators are on in the same time. Some live in different time zones, and have different activities, ranging from school to an actual job. The Assembly's activity should be fluid, not restricted like an RL legislature.
