As Angus Yee waited for the arrival of his Serevan counterpart into the conference chambers in Huawan, he sipped another glass of fine wine. His fountain writing apparatus seated in his pocket, ready to pen down whatever deal he shall strike with Emperor Maruco.
He waits as the cogs of the clocktower rang. His office is indeed inside the grand clocktower after all.

Emperor Tuni Maruco was, like most Serevans, not tall, but what he lacked in stature he made up for in presence, achieved, not least, by his flamboyant wardrobe. As he made his way through the halls of the Grand Clocktower his robes fluttered out behind him, the exact colour and lustre of goldfish scales, Upon his head, a great crested crown, moulded in the shape of a wave, or a shark's fin, or some other nautical motif - it was all the same. As he strode into the conference chamber, flanked by a squad of red-clad Imperial Guardsmen and women, he gave President Yee the slightest of nods before folding his arms into his sleeves and offering a terse greeting.
"A pleasure to meet, you, President Yee," he began, although failing to sound genuinely pleased, "it is past time that our two nations discussed their relationship in more detail. I look forward to hearing what you have in mind for us."
"Indeed Emperor Maruco, please, let us proceed with this discussion."
President Angus Yee ordered his aides, laden with camouflage and modern weaponry, to guide the two into the meeting hall. "I guess you had a nice flight? How are things going in your end of the world?"

"The flight was tolerable, I suppose," the Emperor replied, pausing in the doorway. "There was rather a lot of turbulence going over the mountains." He grimaced. "I would not have chosen to come this way had I known. Still we all sruvived that for that I will say a prayer to the Enlightened one."
He allowed the Huawanese aides to usher him, and his guards, into the meeting chamber. "As for how things are? The Emperor is orderly and tidy for the most part and my satraps are doing as I bid them. There is the usual issue with the occasional renegade Erinoran, of course, and some bothersome privateers from the Frost Empire that I find need an increasingly heavy hand, but it's all nothing, really. For what other reason do we have laws and prisons and gibbets? Sereva is as strong today as it was in the days of my forefathers. What of Huawan?"
"Economically we fare better, the population continues to grow and as such so would our workforce, we have recently built a massive nuclear plant to produce even higher electricity for the industry to flourish. We are indeed building the plant in what's left of ruins of an old kingdom, and such almost costed my life.... Those who break the law are to be put to death without mercy, and trouble rises between Gi-Land and this country. Time is of the essence, and I do believe that we should use that time to tackle those that underestimate our power."
The doors to the Meeting chamber opened, and there it was, a long oak desk with a view to such an industrial land. "Is there anything you'd like to eat?"

"I'll take whatever passes for a delicacy in this land," the Emperor said, "but nothing too heavy."
He stared at the industrialised view. It wasn't particularly to his taste - factories and industry, whilst necessary, tended to be unsightly things and he made sure they were far enough from Ramica that they didn't spoil the view from the Eternal Palace. Of course, just because he didn't like the view, didn't mean he couldn't' see the potential in it. A good deal with the government of Huawan could put the industrial capabilities of the landscape before him to use for his own people as well, and that was an idea with more than its fair share of merit. He didn't want to show his hand on this too soon, however, so he asked, politely, "What are your tensions with the GI? I thought they were being kept in check by the King of Atlantis?"
"Potato, Potato. They are all the same, though Gi-Land attempted to coalesce with you, Emperor Maruco, it does not block the case in which Atlantis, would not try to work together as well. We could not live independent in this world, and thus would need to procure some... Investments, in order to survive."
Angus looked outside, and gazed back. "It is dirty, but rest assured that my transactions aren't. We are honest in here, and I look forward to strike a good business with you Emperor Maruco. Come, may I interest you in some steamed lamb and cola?"
