Esteemed Legislators, Please be advised of the resignation of @Nakari as a Deputy Chair. Nakari was appointed by the Cabinet as interim Minister of Foreign Affairs on the 11th of February. Due to a Separation of Powers, they are unable to simultaneously serve as Deputy Chair. Nakari has provided invaluable counsel to the Chair and has dutifully served as Acting Chair when needed. They will undoubtedly serve with equal distinction as a Cabinet Minister and the Office of Assembly Affairs wishes them the very best as they do so. [1] Elections Act, 7. Separation of Powers, Section 1-4, stipulates: ‘(1) Offices of the Coalition are the Delegate, the Prime Minister and Cabinet Ministers, the Chair of the Assembly, Local Councillors, the Chief Justice, and any of their appointed deputies. (2) It is not permitted for any individual to hold more than one office within the Coalition's government. (3) It is permitted to seek election or appointment to new office while holding an existing office. (4) Election or appointment to a new office constitutes explicit resignation of an existing office.’

How many people took part? 18 Legislators submitted a response. There were 66 eligible members. When was this conducted? This poll was conducted from the 17th to the 21st of February. Why is this called 'Part A'? The February Opinion Poll result is being delivered in two sections due to the timing of the Chair Election which is scheduled to begin on the 24th of February. The encouragement poll for the election is being released three days before so as to provide prospective candidates with an appropriate amount of time to evaluate their political prospects.
