Deputy Chair Announcement and Resignation
#1

@Omega is appointed Deputy Chair of the Assembly, effective immediately.

Having ensured that the Assembly will have an Acting Chair, I resign as Chair of the Assembly. I'm done. I'm tired of being personally attacked, tired of having my past brought up every time someone disagrees with me, tired of people accusing me of being loyal to other regions or groups anytime they don't like something I'm doing, tired of working my ass off to be a decent Chair and still just being treated like that jerk from Osiris -- or worse, depending on how vitriolic Escade feels like being today. I'm done. I don't know why anyone would ever serve as Chair of the Assembly, but good luck to whoever is elected next, assuming anyone even stands for election to this thankless office. Piece of advice: Never moderate anything. You'll get ripped apart.

One more observation as I leave office: This is now the third Chair whose term has ended in resignation instead of completion of a term. Doesn't anyone wonder what's going so wrong here that is causing that? I apologize to Glen for contributing to his resignation. Now I know how it feels.

Goodbye, and thank you for your service.

Well, damn. CoA has been my eventual dream job, and you set the bar really high.

I would like to say a few things:
1. I have asked the EC to do their best to ensure a timely election.
2. I do not plan to run in said election.
3. I am here in order to ensure this Assembly continues to operate. I am a custodian of this seat, nothing more and nothing less.
4. I am sad to see Cormac go. He was a great Chair, especially in regards to the administration of this Assembly.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

Sad to see you go! You were the best chair of my time on NS.

Your interest in upholding the law and rules for what they were, rather than for what you wished they were, was refreshening, and quite rare in today's politics. I wish you the very best, and I hope your policies, and their intent, remain a guiding principle for your successor.

I am very sorry to see you step down. Whilst I didn't always agree with your political choices (I didn't always disagree with them either) I was nothing but impressed by your dedication and efficiency as CoA and, whatever else you might choose to do, your resignation is a big loss to the region.
