Let's get soppy about NS!

The title of this says it all really - this is just a big soggy thread for people to share their favourite moments, what they've learned and generally wax maudlin about this game and this community.

Take it away, TSPeeps!

Well let's see.  :-/

I will miss:
- Gatesville, which used to really liven up Lazarus and NS in general, during the 'good old days'.
- The former old guard of Lazarus, like Dezzland and so forth.
- The really thrilling days of the FRA, DEN, and The Black Hawks, before illegal tools were in the mix.
- Having lots of UCR's fighting for the top spot, as opposed to today where the game seems to have solidified around a few UCR regions.
- No stamps, no fancy scripts, just general click and send a telegram manual recruitment.
- Being able to hide in the game as a newbie, and explore lots of different regions. I have a reputation, so can't do that anymore.
- People who left the game for RL and never came back, who had made the game more fun.
- Perhaps the days when I didn't have disagreements with Europeia or XKI, and had a more naive perception of Gameplay.
- My time in long-defunct regions like Catlandatopia, Trans Altantice, The Praetorian Empire, The Last Kingdom, Kodiak.
- Perhaps more controversially The Ascendancy and New Britannia, where it was fun for a time to just spam a forum and post NS propaganda pieces.
- Being WA Delegate of a GCR, and all the things that entails.
- And finally, legislating around in Lazarus before recent events happened and ended the community.

*drinks away thinking more on the 'good old days' of NS*

I have a lot of love for this game, as I guess you have to have for a game that has held my attention for over a decade.  A general interest in politics attracted me to this game, and for a game where what you can accomplish is limited only by your ambitions, political skills, and creativity got me hooked.  But what made me stay for over a decade is that this is a game about people, and I always played this game with friends and communities that I really cared about.  And what is more rewarding than being able to contribute to that?  Not much.
