2017 Advent Calendar - Day 20
#1

Following on with yesterday's theme of the New Year, a common tradition of the New Years now is making New Years Resolutions. I suppose the nice shiny fresh year is tempting to make promises on, like getting a pretty new notebook and deciding you're going to write your first novel in it. A good thing to write is your New Years Resolutions! Writing down a resolution is proven to make you more likely to do it. Here's a video on it:

I'm not saying write your New Years Resolutions here (though feel free to), but I think it's worth writing them somewhere.

88% of New Years Resolutions fail, and a lot of the failed resolutions (35%) are due to setting unrealistic goals. 33% are due to having no way to track progress, and the rest of the people simply forget the resolution they'd made. Ways to make it more likely you'll succeed are to share your goals and to have support from friends, or to set small measurable goals ("go to the gym three times a week" instead of "exercise more").

I for one am going to actually plan out my time each day \o/

I want to continue writing the novel I started during NaNo. Indeed, I'd like to finish it in 2018.

My resolution is to eat less healthily this year.

If I fail, that's good, because it means I'm still eating healthily.
If I succeed, that's good, because I've actually achieved my New Year's resolution.

Genius. I'm sure my Nobel prize will be arriving soon.
Did some LC, MoRA, CRS stuff in the past. Do a lot of World Census stuff now.

I'll resolve to read it when you've finished it.

I know it's a little on the unrealistic side of things, but I couldn't resist  Tounge

Sleep more and also write a little bit like every few days (let's say 500 words a week)
