January 2018 Special APCRC Elections
#11

Hello again! It's me!
I would like to ask that you vote to re-elect me as Vice-Chair of the Fabulous party!

Before I go into my campaign goals for this special 4-month term, I would like to tell you about my last campaign goals..
(05-15-2017, 12:07 PM)Griffindor13 Wrote: -snip-

Now that I am running for Vice-Chair, My new goals go hand in hand with my old ones, Along with supporting the next Chairs goals (and that of the entire APCRC), I would like to see the party grow by 50% (6 People) or two more general member spots! I would like to see at least 1 more member in the TSP government, I would like the APC as a whole to be more active, draft laws better with more input, but most important, develop a deeper sense of feeling of family within the party.

-snip-
I can say that I was hoping for better, but we still did amazing work. We added 3 people in the last 8 months, or a 25% growth, which is excellent. We also had another APCRC General Member position created since that time! Which *cough* we need more people to run for *cough*. We did also increase our membership in government before it went back down. I also feel that we could have developed laws more, but we had a very long party summit, so I'll let that one slide. I definitely do believe that our family feeling has grown too!

My new campaign goals for this special term is to increase membership by 3 more people at the least, and expand our influence to the in-game community, as well as redefine the committee following the end of the summit.

I hope you decide to re-elect me! If you have any questions (from non-members too) please feel free to ask them!

I'd like to drop my nomination for chair and will instead run for General Member.

My campaign is as follows:

Hey fellow APC members! I’m Katie, your crazy birb friend and language fanatic! I have decided to accept Omega’s nomination, and I have chosen to run for a simple APCRC member seat for the time being. If y’all don’t know me or my legislative goals, let me lay them out for y’all!

Firstly, I want to make the APCRC a bit more welcoming. This party is great, don’t get me wrong, but I’d like to see the passion and hype that the Southern Progress Party has. I want to pass amendments to the charter that set up things like a mini welcoming committee to our party, and perhaps we could consider having a delegate to the regional welcoming committee that was proposed by Kanglia.

Secondly, I want to ensure that if there are any loopholes or mistakes in either our party charter or regional charter, that they are fixed as soon as possible. I have some experience with broken constitutions (*cough* Celestial Mandate of Lazarus *cough*). With that experience, I want to make sure that anything that might happen to our party is covered by law.

Thirdly, I just want to have fun in this party. I’m not saying we haven’t been, I just want us to continue to enjoy our time here in TSP and I want to ensure that everyone in this party is happy to be here and isn’t being harassed, abused, or hurt by members of our party. Again, not saying any of that has happened recently, but I just want to err on the side of safety. ?

Really, I might not be the most experienced person in our party in terms of TSP legislative politics, but I do have the prosperity of our party and TSP as a whole in mind, and I want to make sure that we are living up to our best abilities and moving TSP towards a bigger and brighter future!

Thanks for reading my campaign, and sorry for the fluffy wording. I hope y’all vote for me in these APCRC elections, and I hope y’all have had a wonderful New Year!
- Love, the Katiest Birb

Okay I have a question for all the candidates: the APC has at times lacked a clear legislative agenda. How do you plan to work with fellow APCRC members and members of the party to create and pass a legislative program and what might that legislative agenda include?

The goal here is to look at our platform, and where we think the region should be more in line with the parties values. As a party, we would then draft legislation that we would all agree on.

Well the very first thing I noticed is our section on the Assembly, and how it mentions that we aim to reduce toxicity and bad faith in the Assembly. I have a feeling that this is very closely aligned with the goals of TSP as a whole (as well as a number of the Delegate candidates in the ongoing election). I feel that we need to work not only with the Assembly but also with the Local Council *and* whoever is elected Delegate to come up with a comprehensive draft for some rules of etiquette, not only for the Assembly but for the Forums and RMB as a whole. I am aware that we do have those rules already somewhere, but we should definitely make an effort to put more of a spotlight on these guidelines. In addition, I approve of the Platform's stance that CRS members should be reconfirmed by the Assembly on a regular basis. I would love to assist in helping the party and other members of TSP's government to construct a protocol for these reconfirmations.

Other than these things, I can't see anything at the moment that I can think of specific legislative goals or agendas for. For now we should focus on what our platform states and pushing that forward. Whatever other issues arise or are pointed out to me, I'm fairly certain I'll be ready to work with the party to tackle them and see that they're resolved.

My response to this goes in line with Griffins about looking at our platform and looking at what we think would be more in line with our values region wide. When we look at our section and it states that we aim to reduce toxicity, I see this in two different ways. The first way that I see this is in the form of reducing corruption, though I have yet to see this spiral out here, except from when the "coup" (using this term loosely) happened when I first joined TSP. The second way is through trying to keep a level head when it comes to debates on legislation, something that I feel I have somewhat a skill through. In working with my other party members, I feel I would be more diplomatic than harsh, though I think many of us would all be diplomatic in our efforts to bring about resolve that is great for our party and for TSP as a whole.

Hey guys!

So I'm running for the position of General Member for this term. I just wanted to step down for a while, but it doesn't mean that I will be more inactive or I won't participate in the assembly or in the party. I would like to push for more activity, especially in pushing for legislation that is in line with our charter, something that I admit, would have done more during my term. I would like to see that the APC stands firm not only in the forum-side government, but in the game-side development as well. I do believe that the dynamics of the game-side is different from what we have here, but we should try making our mark on the game-side. We should have representatives from the game-side, as well as developing a committee that is tasked to empower our presence. I hope that through this, we will not only develop a party that is limited to the forums, but we could get several members from the game-side as well.

As always, I am willing to answer any queries that are not addressed by my campaign. Thanks!

I uh, I might not have answered the question correctly the first time so let me say this: my plan, at least preliminarily, for getting APCRC members to work together on anything, really, is to just bother them about it until they all have at least given their two cents on eachothers ideas. That might be a bit too simple, but in the past this has worked.
