Allegations against Aav
#11

Your Honor, the post that is in question here, and in fact is the basis of the entire case, is clearly of a sarcastic nature, as evidenced by the part at which I wrote *sarcastic laugh*. I would also like to note that the legislator process at the time of my application literally consisted of three question that for the life of me I can't remember. Something like nation name, discord tag, and do you swear to faithfully uphold the charter of the coalition. Therefore, Your Honor, as I wrote the post, I was merely mocking the process that I had to go through in order to become a legislator.

Your Honor, I believe that with the evidence that Mr. Roavin has presented, the grounds for these charges are based in pure speculation. Therefore, Your Honor, I have no other recorse but to ask for a dismissial of the charges against myself for espionage, unless Mr. Roavin has more evidence that he would like to share with the Court and myself at this time.

I expected this answer, though I was hoping for Aav to be truthful.

There is further confidential evidence that establishes the charge clear and convincingly. After consultation with the Intelligence Coordinator, I will send to the court in private within the next two days.

I was merely noting that your evidence is a single forum post that I wrote in about 30 seconds, to convey the message that HYDRA had done things. I'll admit to HYDRA having done these things. I know HYDRA did these things. I personally did not do them.
Quote:Espionage shall be defined as an act of or attempt to obtain information that is confidential or not made publicly available for use by oneself or an entity one represents.
I was not in the act or attempt of obtaining information. I signed off on it, sure, but I was not the person who did it. So, Roavin, if you want me to admit to espionage, I will not. But I will state that I was the Director of HYDRA and signed off on an attempt, which I believe could be considered Organized Crime.

So there. Happy now?

And when did you sign off on it?

I'm not going to continue the sham. I should have been ruthful from the start. I apologize to this court for lying in front of it.

Your Honor, I plead guilty to one count of espionage, and I also plead guilty to one count of organized crime. I did it because I thought TSP was filled with terrible people, and the neutrality was a sham. I was wrong. The South Pacific is filled with wonderful people, many of whom I have hurt through my actions. I sincerely apologize to those individuals. I believe that everyone makes mistakes. I just happened to make one of the worst kind: betrayal of trust. I accept whatever verdict the court may deliver, and I will not go around saying that the trial was a sham, and only put in place to ban a raider.

My want for this fight is over. I have no more untruths left to throw in.

My apologies again.

Thanks for the admission. The idea that the South Pacific is filled with terrible people is found frequently in several areas of gameplay, and I'm quite happy to see somebody coming from one of those areas find on their own that we're neither terrible nor raider-hostile. Except for the minor kerfuffle in the beginning getting your Legislator application done, I think it's fair to say that overall we greeted and received you with open arms and a smile.

If you don't mind, I have a few more questions:
  • When was information taken?
  • What information was taken?
  • Who, if anyone, ordered or suggested it?
  • You resigned as Legislator on May 26. Can you elaborate on the reason?

I can't guess how the court will rule, or influence its decision, but I think it's reasonable to assume that helping us figure things out would make it more lenient.

Information was taken in November. It was something like the Cabinet statement on Lazarus.
Tawks ordered the mission, after I originally suggested it.

I resigned because of the fact that I was done with living a lie, in a sense. Also, I didn't take anything past Octoberish. I never got anything that would directly harm TSP, I more grabbed things that might influence people into allying with someone other than TSP. The goal, as it was put, was to "air TSP's dirty laundry." I never found any.

Your honor,

all of Aav's statements that I can verify using intelligence available to me suggests that Aav's latest answers are truthful. I can elaborate in private, if necessary.
